This study is the result of a Power Point presentation that I was preparing to share with my friends and family, because they did not understand why I quit my job late in 2009, which was more than a year ago. After working and bringing my presentation to near completion, I saw the need to convert the study and share it with my Christian brothers and sisters in The House of Faith. It was from this desire to help them to understand that this presentation came to be what it is.

I open the presentation with the question, "Why am I here?" Because you need to receive answers to your questions, and I desire to help you understand the answers to your questions. But before you can ask your questions, you need to also understand The DILEMMA I see in Seeking His Face, while occupying until He comes. So if you have many questions, hopefully I can reduce the time that it would take to answer each question by addressing them in this presentation. And if not, I will address the questions not raised after the presentation.

Some might think that I have become too heavenly minded, and have become of no earthly good. Why? Because I have allowed my house and property to become run down, due to lack of attention. I quit my job for the second time in 2009, to live off of my 401k, which did ran out in October of last year 2010. I have sold the cars that I had in my possession to pay for things that I needed. And I have put most of my things in storage, while assisting friends, who needed my help. And the question presented to me was, Why? Don’t I know that no one knows the day, or the hour of the coming of The Lord? Don’t I know that we are to occupy until He comes again? My answer to both of these questions was yes. But no one seemed to understand the bigger picture from the smaller pictures seen from the study of The Word.

To respond to their questions of concern, I tried to raise their understanding that they might discern and understand the things that were being revealed to me through the study of The Scriptures, which caused me to be more concern of the things revealed over the past few years. With each study presented on the website, to help build understanding on what I was seeing in my understanding of The Word, my concerns grew deeper for those, who did not understand. Yet, the general message given to me was “to occupy until He comes.”

Occupy until He comes

From the statement presented to me, the understanding I received indicated that from the ascension of Christ to heaven unto the day of His 2nd Coming in the air to the earth; we are to occupy until He comes again. But through the study of The Word, I have been seeing a serious dilemma in the church, in Seeking The Face of Christ at His coming, while occupying and waiting for Him to return. Why a serious dilemma? You might ask. Because the word “occupy” is found in only two places in the whole Bible. The first location is found in Ezekiel 27:9. And in the second location of Luke 19:13, which reveals the serious dilemma.

The definition of the word "occupy" found in the Strong's concordance of the Bible has these meanings. In Hebrew, the word is defined at number #06148, which is pronounced as "arab {aw-rab"} with the definition as having this meaning, "to pledge, exchange, mortgage, engage, occupy, undertake for, give pledges, be or become surety, take on pledge, give in pledge".

In Greek, the same word is defined at number #4231 pragmateuomai {prag-mat-yoo'-om-ahee} with the definition meaning, "to be occupied in anything, to carry on a business, or to carry on the business of a banker or a trader". And from the root definition of the word at number #4229 pragma {prag'-mah}, which has the meaning of "that which has been done, a deed, an accomplished fact, what is done or being accomplished". With the word "occupy" and its' meaning defined; at first glance, the council given by those, who questioned my reason for quitting the same job twice, appeared to be correct from the definition of the word. But if we study the way the word is used by Jesus, we will see another view of the same meaning of the word being used.

Luke testified that Jesus was speaking to Zacchaeus. "And Jesus said unto him, This day is salvation come to this house, forsomuch as he also is a son of Abraham. For the Son of man is come to seek and to save that which was lost. And as they heard these things, he added and spake a parable, because he was nigh to Jerusalem, and because they thought that the kingdom of God should immediately appear. He said therefore, A certain nobleman went into a far country to receive for himself a kingdom, and to return. And he called his ten servants, and delivered them ten pounds, and said unto them, Occupy till I come. But his citizens hated him, and sent a message after him, saying, We will not have this [man] to reign over us. And it came to pass, that when he was returned, having received the kingdom, then he commanded these servants to be called unto him, to whom he had given the money, that he might know how much every man had gained by trading. Then came the first, saying, Lord, thy pound hath gained ten pounds. And he said unto him, Well, thou good servant: because thou hast been faithful in a very little, have thou authority over ten cities.

"And the second came, saying, Lord, thy pound hath gained five pounds. And he said likewise to him, Be thou also over five cities. And another came, saying, Lord, behold, [here is] thy pound, which I have kept laid up in a napkin: For I feared thee, because thou art an austere man: thou takest up that thou layedst not down, and reapest that thou didst not sow. And he saith unto him, Out of thine own mouth will I judge thee, [thou] wicked servant. Thou knewest that I was an austere man, taking up that I laid not down, and reaping that I did not sow: Wherefore then gavest not thou my money into the bank, that at my coming I might have required mine own with usury? And he said unto them that stood by, Take from him the pound, and give [it] to him that hath ten pounds. (And they said unto him, Lord, he hath ten pounds.) For I say unto you, That unto every one which hath shall be given; and from him that hath not, even that he hath shall be taken away from him. But those mine enemies, which would not that I should reign over them, bring hither, and slay [them] before me. And when he had thus spoken, he went before, ascending up to Jerusalem" (Luke 19:9-28).

From this parable through His servant Luke, a serious dilemma is revealed to His church, but many will not understand the seriousness of the dilemma until they have made the connection and have completed, and have understood the study. They can then return and look again at this parable to see the problem of why one servant was considered as being a wicked servant, and the others were considered as being good servants.

Today many of The Lord’s servants believe that they are occupying and waiting for Him to return after receiving His Kingdom, but there are many keeping to themselves the treasure, which He has given to them to use for trade. Through His servant Ellen White, He revealed to us a view of the problem between the good servant and the wicked servant. From The Treasure of The Word she wrote and said...

“In the light of God's word, there must be a decided change in the attitude and character of his chosen people, or they will never obtain the overcomer's reward. In their present state of spiritual inefficiency, they could never fight the good fight of faith as successful soldiers of Jesus Christ. While the great enemy of God and his people is wide awake, earnest, and untiring in his efforts to ensnare, where are the men and women who are qualifying themselves to meet and expose his arts and deceptions? Every man, every woman, and every youth is under obligation to work for the strengthening and up-building of the cause of Christ; but would not a large number of his professed people, in their present condition, be pronounced slothful servants? Brethren, you do not exercise skill, diligence, and devotion in the cause of your Master. After having received the richest gifts of heaven, you are content to give but little in return. Do not entertain complacent feelings in view of the talents which have been intrusted to you.

"God will prove you; and when he finds you are selfishly absorbed in your own plans and interests, he will take these talents away from you, and give them to those who have wrought unselfishly in his service. A day of reckoning is drawing on, when the rewards will be given to the faithful traders with their Lord's goods; but these true servants take no credit to themselves; they give their Lord all the glory. "Lord, thy pound hath gained ten pounds." There could have been no gain without the deposit, no interest without the principal. The pound was committed to the faithful servant, and he has gained besides it, or through its help, other pounds also. He does not feel that he has done more than his duty.

"The capital was advanced to him, and if he has been enabled to trade successfully with it, his Lord alone shall have the glory. When brethren render to God a small portion of their time, money, or intellect, which are all his own, they are inclined to feel well pleased with themselves, and to think that they have placed the Lord under obligation to them. But why should Brn. Whitney, Smith, Brown, Haskell, or any of these ministers, give all their powers to the service of God, and bear burdens in his cause, and the hundreds of believers go free, carrying no responsibility of the work? Has God given these brethren faculties different from yours? No, my brethren and sisters; you have the very same reasoning powers that they possess, but you have allowed your farm or business to absorb all your time and energies.

There is work for all in the cause of God. The church in your own neighborhood requires care. Men of thought and self-denial are needed,--men who will work to keep up the interests of the church, even if their own worldly affairs suffer. You will give your thought and care to that cause whose prosperity you prize most highly. If it is your farm, your trade, or your business, then this will be first considered. But a day of reckoning is surely coming, when a full and minute account will have to be rendered as to how you have employed your God-given abilities.
(Review and Herald October 28, 1884 par. 11-15)

Through The Talent given to His servant Ellen White, The Lord has revealed and said, "a day of reckoning is surely coming”, “there must be a decided change in the attitude and character"..."or they will never obtain the overcomer's reward”. However, through The Talent given of Him to His servant Matthew, it is written, saying, “But he that shall endure unto the end, the same shall be saved” (Matthew 24:13).

Signs of the day of reckoning

From the signs of the past few months, it would appear that the day of reckoning is drawing near. Yet it was said to me, that no one knows the day, or the hour of the coming of The Lord. But Jesus did say that we would see the signs of His coming, and of the end of the world. I am sure that many have seen that news clip of the Haiti earthquake on January 12, 2010, which registered at a magnitude of 7.0 killing almost 100,000 people, leaving over 220,000 people homeless, and with countless others wounded in more ways than one.

I am sure also that many have seen and heard the comment of fear during the earthquake, when a woman cried that "the world is coming to an end". Yet, many occupy their time in not preparing for that day to come. In just over a month later on February 27, 2010 another earthquake registering at a magnitude of 8.8 in Chile killed over 500 people and left over $30 billion dollars worth of damage. Yet, people continue to be unchanged in the direction that they are heading. Other signs began to appear to wake His people up to their condition and their need of Him, Who is The Light and Life of men.

When ask about the causes of all the animals death around the world, it was given in the reports that it was the result of toxins, colder weather, disease, fireworks, hail, thunderstorms and possibly the End Times. Notice that these signs were not given to only one location as to focus on any one ethnic group, but is seen world wide in its' scope of influence.

These signs however, had happen over the last twelve months or more. They were not the reasons for my choice in quitting my job before the signs began to appear so frequently. They were not the reasons for choosing to become so absorbed in studying and presenting The Light of The Word of GOD on my website. It was what Jesus said we were NOT to be before He spoke of the signs that would appear in the last days. What did Jesus say to His disciples before He revealed to them the signs of His coming in the last days?

Through The Talant given to His servant Matthew, it is written, saying, “And as he sat upon the mount of Olives, the disciples came unto him privately, saying, Tell us, when shall these things be? and what [shall be] the sign of thy coming, and of the end of the world? And Jesus answered and said unto them, Take heed that no man deceive you. For many shall come in my name, saying, I am Christ; and shall deceive many.” (Matthew 24:3-5).

No matter which way you look at the first sign, if a servant did not know his Lord, he, or she would be deceived. Because there are those, who would come and tell you Yes, that Jesus is The Christ, and still deceive the one, who knew not his Lord. And those, who knew not The Lord, are open to the deceptions of the one, who would come, saying that he is The Christ. Notice that before Jesus talked to His disciples of the signs that would precede His second coming, He said to them that they were to take heed not to be deceived. According to the revelation given to them, they were to be more concern about being deceived, than seeking to know the signs of His coming.

Take heed not to be deceived

There are those, who like the servant in the parable who was given the treasure of The Lord to get gain into His Kingdom, but they have been deceived by the enemy to hide The Gift of God for their own gain. With The Talent given to Paul, who wrote in his second letter to the church of Thessalonica, it is written, saying, "Let no man deceive you by any means: for [that day shall not come], except there come a falling away first, and that man of sin be revealed, the son of perdition” (2 Thessalonians 2:3).

Notice that before that day of The Lord shall come, it was revealed to the church through His servant Paul that there shall come a falling away first.

A falling away first

Notice that, if we are seeing the signs of the coming of The Lord, then there has already been a serious falling away first. The question we must ask ourselves is this, Has His people been deceived, or have they been led by the enemy to fall away from The Truth?

Notice again what was revealed to us through His servant Ellen G White. She said, “...there must be a decided change in the attitude and character of his Chosen people, or they will never obtain the overcomer's reward. In their present state of spiritual inefficiency, they could never fight the good fight of faith as successful soldiers of Jesus Christ.”

With that statement on the spiritual condition of the people of God, She also said, “While the great enemy of God and his people is wide awake, earnest, and untiring in his efforts to ensnare, where are the men and women who are qualifying themselves to meet and expose his arts and deceptions? Notice that it was stated by Jesus and Paul that the people of God were to take heed and to let no man deceive them. But if they were spiritually inefficient to fight the good fight of faith, in strengthening and up-building the cause of Christ, then with the untiring efforts to ensnare the people of God, the great enemy of God would use his arts of deception to deceive God’s people.

In using the talents given to him in the cause of Christ, John wrote and testified to expose the enemy, saying, "...the great dragon was cast out, that old serpent, called the Devil, and Satan, which deceiveth the whole world: he was cast out into the earth, and his angels were cast out with him” (Revelation 12:9).

With the talents given to him, John also wrote in exposing the enemy and those, whom he deceived with untiring efforts, to work with him in his cause, to take all who are deceived into perdition with him. Through John it was also revealed saying, "...I saw three unclean spirits like frogs [come] out of the mouth of the dragon, and out of the mouth of the beast, and out of the mouth of the false prophet. For they are the spirits of devils, working miracles, [which] go forth unto the kings of the earth and of the whole world, to gather them to the battle of that great day of God Almighty.” (Revelation 16:13,14)

The enemy of God is like that man, who received of the same spirit, in sitting on his throne over the people, who served him for about forty years, and he with his sons working to employ servants to kill to the last bullet all, who do not want to serve under him, and he to reign over them. Is this the view men have of God by what they see the enemy do through the leaders of men in the world? Could this be the reason why the world is in such turmoil and confusion? Could this be the reason for the earthquakes and the cause of death all around the world? Could this be the reason that so many are going to their graves without hope in Christ, because the enemy hates both GOD and His people?

It was for this reason that I answered the call, to help meet and expose the deceptions of the enemy, to make use of The Lord’s talents in me, to help my brothers and sisters, friends and family to overcome the enemy in fighting the good fight of faith in the battle with The Lord, Who works in us and through us to overcome the enemy and his deceptions. But many of my friends and family could not see by faith to receive The Value of what GOD was revealing to us through HIS Word. For "...without faith [it is] impossible to please [him]: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and [that] he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him” (Hebrews 11:6). This is the battle of the enemy against GOD and His people, to cause us to lose our Reward by our lack of faith in God and HIS Word.

Through His servant John, The Word said, “He that hath an ear, let him hear what the Spirit saith unto the churches. And unto the angel of the church of the Laodiceans write; These things saith the Amen, the faithful and true witness, the beginning of the creation of God; I know thy works, that thou art neither cold nor hot: I would thou wert cold or hot. So then because thou art lukewarm, and neither cold nor hot, I will spue thee out of my mouth. Because thou sayest, I am rich, and increased with goods, and have need of nothing; and knowest not that thou art wretched, and miserable, and poor, and blind, and naked: I counsel thee to buy of me gold tried in the fire, that thou mayest be rich; and white raiment, that thou mayest be clothed, and [that] the shame of thy nakedness do not appear; and anoint thine eyes with eyesalve, that thou mayest see. As many as I love, I rebuke and chasten: be zealous therefore, and repent. Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me. To him that overcometh will I grant to sit with me in my throne, even as I also overcame, and am set down with my Father in his throne. He that hath an ear, let him hear what the Spirit saith unto the churches" (Revelation 3:13-22).

Notice that by being deceived to one's own condition of being lukewarm in The Knowledge of GOD, WHO has revealed HIMSELF fully by HIS Faithful and True Witness in HIS Word, Who came to dwell and do HIS Will among men; a person that has spent all of his/her time, money and his intellect to gain unbelief, while thinking that he/she is ready to receive the promise reward on that day of Christ return, he/she could be greatly disappointed to find himself/herself where he/she did not want to be, which is to be deceived and not ready to receive his/her reward. Before the church of Laodicea fell away from The Faith, they became spiritually inefficient, to see that they were trading The Lord’s Treasure for the corrupt treasures of the enemy. And some have traded some of their beliefs for some of the teachings of the enemy, who cause them to be lukewarm in their understanding of GOD and HIS Word. And with this lukewarm understanding with confusion, they confess with their own mouth that to them The Revelation of GOD is a mystery to their understanding.

They became spiritually inefficient

By being spiritually inefficient, they traded The Treasures of Christ, Who made them rich in The Knowledge of GOD, for the treasures of the enemy, who cause them to be poor in the wisdom of men. They traded The White Raiment of Christ, Who covered their nakedness with His Robe of Righteousness in doing right, for the covering of the enemy, who cause their nakedness to be seen in doing the unrighteous works of men. They rejected The Spiritual eyes of Christ, Who gave them eyes to see by faith in HIS Word, but they traded them for the eyes of the enemy, who cause them to be blinded by their dependents on the philosophies of men, who guided them into error.

Do we not know that The Lord rebukes us, because He Loves us?

In the parable of the ten virgins, it was revealed that all ten virgins fell asleep waiting for the coming of The Bridegroom. The question could be raised, What was it that made the five virgins wise, and the other five virgins foolish? And do we have an ear to hear what The Spirit says unto the churches that we might enter in and sup with Him, and He with us? If we were required to give an answer to the question, as to what the enemy used in his arts of deception, to deceive the whole world; would we have within us from The Treasures of Christ, to be competent enough to meet and expose the enemy’s deceptions to the ones we love? (-Click this link-)

Do we have The Anointing Eyes of The Gift of Faith, to see and receive The Truth of GOD through HIS Word, that we might overcome the blindness of the enemy to see Christ at His coming? Notice what Paul said in his second letter to the church at Corinth. Being enriched of Him, Who gave him all utterance, Paul testified of Him and said, "...seeing we have this ministry, as we have received mercy, we faint not; But have renounced the hidden things of dishonesty, not walking in craftiness, nor handling the word of God deceitfully; but by manifestation of the truth commending ourselves to every man's conscience in the sight of God.

"But if our gospel be hid, it is hid to them that are lost: In whom the god of this world hath blinded the minds of them which believe not, lest the light of the glorious gospel of Christ, who is the image of God, should shine unto them. For we preach not ourselves, but Christ Jesus the Lord; and ourselves your servants for Jesus' sake” (2 Corinthians 4:1-5).

By being blinded by the enemy, and kept from receiving The Light of True Judgment, the leaders became spiritually inefficient in their ability to discern the deceptions of the enemy, because they depended on the flesh of men, who led them to change from the foundation of their faith in GOD, to the intellectual philosophies of men. In the same way, if we depend on ourselves, or the flesh of men to guide our path, then we will walk from our secure dwelling place in GOD'S Word to a place of darkness without HIS Light and Life.

To help us to understand and follow HIS Will, The LORD through His servant Paul testified of The Will of GOD and said, "I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, [which is] your reasonable service. And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what [is] that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God. For I say, through the grace given unto me, to every man that is among you, not to think [of himself] more highly than he ought to think; but to think soberly, according as God hath dealt to every man the measure of faith.

"For as we have many members in one body, and all members have not the same office: So we, [being] many, are one body in Christ, and every one members one of another. Having then gifts differing according to the grace that is given to us, whether prophecy, [let us prophesy] according to the proportion of faith; Or ministry, [let us wait] on [our] ministering: or he that teacheth, on teaching; Or he that exhorteth, on exhortation: he that giveth, [let him do it] with simplicity; he that ruleth, with diligence; he that sheweth mercy, with cheerfulness. [Let] love be without dissimulation. Abhor that which is evil; cleave to that which is good. [Be] kindly affectioned one to another with brotherly love; in honour preferring one another; Not slothful in business; fervent in spirit; serving the Lord; Rejoicing in hope; patient in tribulation; continuing instant in prayer; Distributing to the necessity of saints; given to hospitality. Bless them which persecute you: bless, and curse not. Rejoice with them that do rejoice, and weep with them that weep.

"[Be] of the same mind one toward another. Mind not high things, but condescend to men of low estate. Be not wise in your own conceits. Recompense to no man evil for evil. Provide things honest in the sight of all men. If it be possible, as much as lieth in you, live peaceably with all men. Dearly beloved, avenge not yourselves, but [rather] give place unto wrath: for it is written, Vengeance [is] mine; I will repay, saith the Lord. Therefore if thine enemy hunger, feed him; if he thirst, give him drink: for in so doing thou shalt heap coals of fire on his head. Be not overcome of evil, but overcome evil with good" Romans 12:1-21).

With all these signs of the day of reckoning drawing near; the important question to consider is this, If we are not trading and using these talents as members of the body of Christ, Who came and delivered to us His treasures for us, then, who are we revealing when we show and do to each other the opposite of what He has revealed? For we were all at one time enemies, who hated each other, and hated to have GOD and HIS Word to reign over us. We must then choose to make a decided change in our attitude and character, by not conforming to the ways of this world, but by renewing our minds by the transforming Treasures of Christ, Who overcame the enemy in this world that we also might overcome and obtain the overcomer's reward.

As we renew our minds from the deceptions of the enemy, let us by The Grace and Mercy of GOD, trim from our vessels the hidden things of dishonesty that we might walk not in craftiness, of deceitfully handling The Word of God, but in the sight of GOD, Who looks down from above, let us allow The Light of HIS Word to be manifested in us and through us, to the conscience of every man, who would be saved by HIS Word. For this is the focus of the parable, in the giving of the ten talents, to seek and to save that which was lost. It was revealed by His servant Ellen White, who said...

"The conversion of souls to God is the greatest, the noblest work in which human beings can have a part. In this work are revealed God's power, His holiness, His forbearance, and His unbounded love. Every true conversion glorifies Him and causes the angels to break forth into singing. We are nearing the end of this earth's history, and the different lines of God's work are to be carried forward with much more self-sacrifice than is at present manifest. The work for these last days is in a special sense a missionary work. The presentation of present truth, from the first letter of its alphabet to the last, means missionary effort. The work to be done calls for sacrifice at every advance step. From this unselfish service the workers will come forth purified and refined as gold tried in the fire. The sight of souls perishing in sin should arouse us to put forth greater effort to give the light of present truth to those who are in darkness, and especially to those in fields where as yet very little has been done to establish memorials for God. In all parts of the world a work that should have been done long ago is now to be entered upon and carried forward to completion." (Counsels on Health page 215.4 - 216.1)

"God requires of his people a zeal according to knowledge. He desires them to be doers of the word. The outer appearance testifies of the inward working of the heart. The truth received into the heart accomplishes the transformation of the mind and heart and character. To Daniel the Lord revealed the condition of the inhabitants of the earth in these last days. "Many shall be purified," he said, "and made white, and tried; but the wicked shall do wickedly: and none of the wicked shall understand; but the wise shall understand."
This is a subject the comprehension of which will put to the stretch every spiritual sinew and muscle. There is a great work to be done for the members of the church, to wean them from their idols. The church-members have had great blessings; they have had the living oracles of God opened to their understanding; they have not been left in darkness and error, as those who are doing wickedly. Now God calls upon those who claim to believe the truth to show to the world its converting power on the heart and character, and to reveal to the world that they are of the number who are being purified, and made white, and tried."
(Review and Herald, March 7, 1899 paragraph 8,9)

In the parable of the ten talents, which were given of The Master Worker, to seek and to save the lost; one servant hid The Gift of GOD, Who was given to him at a great price. The servant rejected HIS Gift, and return to Him that, which was freely given of Him. The servant, who did not know his Lord, confessed out of his own mouth the blindness of his heart, by revealing that The LORD was taking from him The Gift he had not received from HIM in Him. But it was found that he had other talents. The LORD by HIS Word, said, "...I say unto you, That unto every one which hath shall be given; and from him that hath not, even that he hath shall be taken away from him. But those mine enemies, which would not that I should reign over them, bring hither, and slay [them] before me" (Luke 19:26,27).

As partakers of HIS Word, Who Shines through us to those, who are lost in darkness and death, let us receive of The LORD The Gift of HIS Living Word that those we love might receive HIS Reward with us? For The Lord is calling HiS Own. The question is, Do we have ears to hear His call? The Amen.
