(We pray Father that we might rely on YOUR THOUGHTS, WHICH are higher than our thoughts, and follow YOUR Way, through Whom YOU have revealed to us YOUR ways. May we believe and receive The Power YOU have given to us, we pray, Amen.)

In the previous study, we have read the account of John's testimony when he spoke of John the Baptist, who was called of GOD to make known to Israel The Truth of GOD, or The Son of GOD. From his testimony, John made The Truth known that "He that cometh from above is above all: he that is of the earth is earthly, and speaketh of the earth: he that cometh from heaven is above all. And what he hath seen and heard, that he testifieth; and no man receiveth his testimony. He that hath received his testimony hath set to his seal that God is true. For he whom God hath sent speaketh the words of God: for God giveth not the Spirit by measure unto him" (John 3:31-34).

By receiving The Testimony that comes from above, John was able to make known to men The Word of GOD, Who testified to him of What He has seen and heard form above. It is of His testimony that John said, "For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life" (John 3:16).

Paul testified of What he saw and heard, and having believed on The Son of GOD, he said, " much as in me is, I am ready to preach the gospel to you that are at Rome also. For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek. For therein is the righteousness of God revealed from faith to faith: as it is written, The just shall live by faith" (Romans 1:15-17).

In looking again at the words that were presented to us through John, we recognized that all, who will be saved in The Kingdom will be those, who have received and believed The Testimony of Jesus Christ on what He came to reveal to us of What He has seen and heard from above. All, who are of the earth speak only of the things of the earth, but He, Who is from above, He speaks to us of the things of above. It was for this reason that John made it known to those, who followed his teachings that He, Who is from above must increase while he, who is of the earth must decrease.

By believing in John's witness of The Gift from above, the disciples preached to the church not of the enticing words of manís wisdom, but were demonstrating to the church The SPIRIT and Power of GOD when they made known to us what they had seen and heard. And because of The Revelation received by them to be re-presented to us, Peter testified and said, "...we have not followed cunningly devised fables, when we made known unto you the power and coming of our Lord Jesus Christ, but were eyewitnesses of his majesty. For he received from God the Father honour and glory, when there came such a voice to him from the excellent glory, This is my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased" (2Peter 1:16,17).

Having heard of the event on the mount, and the privilege Peter, James and John had in hearing of The VOICE THAT came to The Lord from the excellent glory, Matthew testified of What they had seen and heard, saying, "While he yet spake, behold, a bright cloud overshadowed them: and behold a voice out of the cloud, which said, This is my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased; hear ye him" (Matthew 17:5).

The Message from The Father to them, as well as to us is this, that we are to hear Him, Whom HE has sent. HE did not say to hear His Spirit, as to support the thought of another person. No, HE said to "hear Him", Who is HIS beloved Son. For it is written, " [cometh] by hearing, and hearing by the word of God" (Romans 10:17). Although Mathew was not there on the mount with Peter James and John, he was able to hear The Will of GOD in The Same Way that we hear from HIM today.

If we are presenting the enticing words of manís wisdom in place of The Word of GOD, Who comes from above, then all, who seek the understanding of The things of GOD by the wisdom of men will have a hard time discerning and receiving The Blessing in The Gift, Who comes from The Father above. Having made known to the other disciples and to the church The Power and coming of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, Peter testified and said, "...this voice which came from heaven we heard, when we were with him in the holy mount. We have also a more sure word of prophecy; whereunto ye do well that ye take heed, as unto a light that shineth in a dark place, until the day dawn, and the day star arise in your hearts" (2Peter 1: 18,19).

With our eyes of faith, notice what Peter is saying that we should receive in our hearts as a Light until The Day Star Himself shall dawn and arise in our hearts. Until we can receive in us The Sure Word of prophecy, to remove the darkness in our hearts, The Light of Truth, Who shines from above will not dawn upon our hearts unto the perfect Day. To make it clear to us on the difference between Light and darkness, Truth and error, Peter further testified and said, "Knowing this first, that no prophecy of the scripture is of any private interpretation" (2Peter 1:20).

Demonstrating the receiving of
The Sure Word of prophecy

Do we follow and believe a teaching, because many have accepted that teaching, or that tradition to be true? Do we build our faith on the enticing words of manís wisdom, which are given to support and make the traditions and teachings appear to be True? Or do we believe and accept the teachings and traditions, because GOD has revealed to us HIS Truth and has commanded us to keep and follow HIS Word? Are we building our faith on The Sure Foundation of GODíS Word, as The Light of Truth, Who comes from above and dawns upon the hearts of men to do HIS Will?

Having received The Key of the Kingdom of Heaven, Peter testified of The Truth and said, "For the prophecy came not in old time by the will of man: but holy men of God spake as they were moved by the Holy Ghost" (2Peter 1:21). Notice that these holy men testified of the things of GOD, because they were moved upon by The Holy Ghost in The Same Way that The Spirit of GOD moved upon the face of the waters to shine The Light of Truth to those in darkness to The Truth. These men were holy, not because they made themselves holy, but because of The One, Who is Holy, Who was allowed to move upon them to speak and do The Will of GOD through them.

In the previous study under The Demonstration of The Spirit and of Power, we read that "God, who at sundry times and in divers manners spake in time past unto the fathers by the prophets, Hath in these last days spoken unto us by his Son, whom he hath appointed heir of all things, by whom also he made the worlds" (Hebrews 1:1,2).

The Question that might dawn upon our hearts from this passage of Scripture, is this, "Do we believe This revelation from the excellent glory to be True, that GOD is speaking to us in these last days by HIS Son, or is HE speaking to us by Someone else?

Could it be that the things Jesus reported unto us through the prophets were given for our glory and not for their understanding? Yet, many of the disciples after His crucifixion, and many within the church today believed not His report, or His Testimony given to us through the prophets.

Speaking unto two of His disciples as they traveled on the road to Emmaus, Jesus said, "...O fools, and slow of heart to believe all that the prophets have spoken: Ought not Christ to have suffered these things, and to enter into his glory? And beginning at Moses and all the prophets, he expounded unto them in all the scriptures the things concerning himself" (Luke 24:25-27).

Notice that He, Who revealed the things of Himself to the prophets in the days of old, is The Same, Who is able also to expound unto us in all the Scriptures The Things concerning Himself. As it was revealed through John in our previous study, that Jesus said "It is written in the prophets, And they shall be all taught of God. Every man therefore that hath heard, and hath learned of the Father, cometh unto me" (John 6:45).

Through His servant David, The Word of The LORD said, "Many, O LORD my God, [are] thy wonderful works [which] thou hast done, and thy thoughts [which are] to us-ward: they cannot be reckoned up in order unto thee: [if] I would declare and speak [of them], they are more than can be numbered. Sacrifice and offering thou didst not desire; mine ears hast thou opened: burnt offering and sin offering hast thou not required.

"Then said I, Lo, I come: in the volume of the book [it is] written of me, I delight to do thy will, O my God: yea, thy law [is] within my heart. I have preached righteousness in the great congregation: lo, I have not refrained my lips, O LORD, thou knowest. I have not hid thy righteousness within my heart; I have declared thy faithfulness and thy salvation: I have not concealed thy lovingkindness and thy truth from the great congregation" (Psalm 40:5-10).

Notice that David was moved upon by GOD to present HIS Word, Who had revealed to him That, Which The Father had revealed through Him. The ears of David were opened to receive from GOD, That Which no man but He, Whom The Father had sent to open to man That Which was Sealed in The Book. The Word revealed to the church, The Will of GOD, The Law of GOD, The Righteousness of GOD, HIS Faithfulness, HIS Loving kindness, HIS Truth and HIS Salvation, Which was sealed from the understanding of the hearts of men. By giving to man HIS Gift, The Father has given to man HIS Spirit in The Person of HIS Son, Who is The Light and Power of GOD to men.

Through Paul, The Word testified that The Gospel is The Power of God unto salvation to every one that will believe His Testimony. It is in His Testimony, or His Gospel that the righteousness of God is revealed from faith to faith. It is by faith that The Word of GOD comes to us in the volume of The Book, Which is written of Him. Through Him, The Righteousness and WILL of The Father is revealed to men. It is for this reason that Peter said, "We have also a more sure word of prophecy; whereunto ye do well that ye take heed, as unto a light that shineth in a dark place, until the day dawn, and the day star arise in your hearts" (2 Peter 1:19).

By not giving heed to The Light that shined from above through those, who have received The True Witness of GOD, many will continue to be in darkness to The Truth of The Spirit of GOD, Who is working The Will of GOD in the hearts of men that we might do HIS Will. However, being a witness to those, who might be in darkness to The Truth, Paul, having received His Testimony in his heart, testified and said, "...brethren, I would not that ye should be ignorant, how that all our fathers were under the cloud, and all passed through the sea; And were all baptized unto Moses in the cloud and in the sea; And did all eat the same spiritual meat; And did all drink the same spiritual drink: for they drank of that spiritual Rock that followed them: and that Rock was Christ. But with many of them God was not well pleased: for they were overthrown in the wilderness" (2 Corinthians 10:1-5).

Notice the clarity of Paul's witness of The Truth. He did not say that The Rock was The Spirit from Christ, or the third member of The GODHEAD. No, he made it clear that "That Rock was Christ", Who was 100% Spirit before He put on 100% the form of flesh. Yet, this verse is among the many verses that are viewed and are misinterpreted to support an error in doctrine, because of that one verse not yet presented in this study.

John the Baptist testified of Christ and said, "He that cometh from above is above all: he that is of the earth is earthly, and speaketh of the earth: he that cometh from heaven is above all. And what he hath seen and heard, that he testifieth; and no man receiveth his testimony. He that hath received his testimony hath set to his seal that God is true. For he whom God hath sent speaketh the words of God: for God giveth not the Spirit by measure [unto him]. The Father loveth the Son, and hath given all things into his hand. He that believeth on the Son hath everlasting life: and he that believeth not the Son shall not see life; but the wrath of God abideth on him" (John 3:31-36).

Do we really believe The Witness of The Son of GOD, that The Father has placed all things in His hand? Or do we believe that a third divine being is sharing a measure of The Spirit of GOD with Him, Whom HE has sent? If we say that there is a third divine being, who is helping Him to reveal The Things of GOD, then we are denying both His Testimony and The TESTIMONY of The Father, WHO speaks HIS words through Him. For The Word said of The Father, "...I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me. If ye had known me, ye should have known my Father also: and from henceforth ye know him, and have seen him" (John 14:6,7).

This Testimony of Christ makes it clear that He has fully revealed The Father in Himself. And if men have received His Testimony, then they have received also The Revelation of The Father in Christ. But if men are saying that The Father is revealed also to men by a person known as the third divine member of The GODHEAD, then they by their acceptance of this teaching, or doctrine, have allowed The Truth of GOD by HIS Word to fall to the ground. It was for this reason that "The Dark Ages" got it name. As Adam and Eve lost The Light and Life of GOD in them, because they accepted the doctrine of the serpent, likewise many within the church had fallen away from The Truth and Light of GOD to accept the enticing words of manís wisdom and bring again upon man the age of darkness.

For generations now, many within the church have been seeking to turn from darkness to The Word of GOD, to be restored to The Light of Truth, but many still hold to the teachings that are unsupported by The Word of GOD, Whom they proclaim to follow. However, as we lean not to our own understanding and trust in GOD'S Word, to do as He says, the day will come when The Day Star of GOD will arise in our hearts to glorify and honor HIS Name. For Jesus said, "... My doctrine is not mine, but his that sent me. If any man will do his will, he shall know of the doctrine, whether it be of God, or [whether] I speak of myself. He that speaketh of himself seeketh his own glory: but he that seeketh his glory that sent him, the same is true, and no unrighteousness is in him" (John 7:16-18).

The Book that was sealed

With The Word open to the heart of Paul, he testified of The Light in him and said, "...It is written, The first man Adam was made a living soul; the last Adam [was made] a quickening spirit. Howbeit that [was] not first which is spiritual, but that which is natural; and afterward that which is spiritual. The first man [is] of the earth, earthy: the second man [is] the Lord from heaven. As [is] the earthy, such [are] they also that are earthy: and as [is] the heavenly, such [are] they also that are heavenly. And as we have borne the image of the earthy, we shall also bear the image of the heavenly" (1 Corinthians 15:45-49).

Notice the clarity of Paul's testimony, that The Second Adam is The Lord from heaven, Who is a quickening Spirit. This statement by Paul explains more clearly his understanding of The Word of GOD, Whom he identified from The revelation from The Father and said, "...The Lord is that Spirit: and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is liberty." This Lord is not another Spirit, but The Spirit and Image of The Father, Who reveals in Himself The Things of GOD to men, that He might glory The Father in Himself. Through His servant John, who is flesh and blood, The Word of GOD said, "It is the spirit that quickeneth; the flesh profiteth nothing: the words that I speak unto you, [they] are spirit, and [they] are life. But there are some of you that believe not. For Jesus knew from the beginning who they were that believed not, and who should betray him. And he said, Therefore said I unto you, that no man can come unto me, except it were given unto him of my Father.

"From that [time] many of his disciples went back, and walked no more with him. Then said Jesus unto the twelve, Will ye also go away? Then Simon Peter answered him, Lord, to whom shall we go? thou hast the words of eternal life. And we believe and are sure that thou art that Christ, the Son of the living God" (John 6:63-69).

Could this be the reason why the world was led into darkness to follow the private interpretations of men, who received not The Truth from The Father in The Light of HIS Word? If we are to receive The Gift of GOD, Who is Eternal Life, to know The Truth from the errors, and to receive or to reject the errors that are being presented as true, then we must receive The One, Who is The Word of Life, that we might believe The Things He has seen and heard from The Father, WHO sent Him. For He is The True Witnesses of GOD to this world of darkness and death that we might receive HIS Light to reveal HIS Truth.

By receiving His Testimony, Paul testified and said, "The Lord is That Spirit", and after receiving His Testimony, Peter testified to The Lord and said, ďWe believe and are sure that you are That Christ, (The Anointed One), The Son of The Living GODĒ. These disciples received The Sure Word of prophecy and built their faith on the evidence He revealed to them from above. If we are to build our faith on The Truth of GOD, then before we can make a proper judgment for, or against anything, including a decision for Eternal Life, or eternal death, he or she must weigh all the evidence that is presented to him, or her to make the correct judgment. However today, ďÖthe god of this world hath blinded the minds of them which believe not, lest the light of the glorious gospel of Christ, who is the image of God, should shine unto themĒ (2 Corinthians 4:4).

GOD is a SPIRIT, and if HIS Son came to earth to present to man The Image of The Father in Himself, then He in the form of flesh has revealed in Himself The Father among men. By the witness of His servant John, it was written, "He came unto his own, and his own received him not. But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, [even] to them that believe on his name: Which were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God. And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth" (John 1:11-14).

Could it be that many within His church are today repeating the same judgment as those, whom He led out of Egypt? As we come to the close of part 3 in this series of studies, let us pray that we might be born of The Second Adam from above, and not just of the image of the earthy in this world. I pray that we might continue to walk with HIS Son in Spirit and in Truth, that The Father's LIGHT through Him might shine through us to be witnesses for Him in this darken world, and glorify HIS Name to men everywhere. Amen. Our next study in this series is ""Receiving the Spirit of Truth"
