Making the connection to my
Lord and Savior Jesus Christ

After many years of working for a living as a graphic artist in two different companies, with a growing desire for feeding on The Word of GOD, and a desire to share my faith of the things of what were being revealed to me of GOD in and by HIS Word, I have found over time in the study of GOD’S Word that as I received HIS Word, I desired to feed more and more. This meant that there was less of a desire for other things. But the enemy of my soul did not want to lose his grip on my heart. But neither did I want to lose my grip of studying and feeding on The Word of GOD. The more I studied and yielding room in my heart for The word of GOD, the more the enemy of my soul presented things of interest to grip my heart and keep me interested in the things of this world.

At one time, I saw myself as a tennis ball being batted back and forth by to players on a tennis court. And with my growing love for the study of GOD’S Word, and sharing my faith and teaching what I had learned in small Bible study groups, and eventually creating the website http://www.thelightoftheword.org to share more of The Word, I found that there was less time in the day to do both work and study. I spent more of my evenings, even late into the night and at times late into the morning, creating illustrations to present with the studies, to help others understand what I was learning from The Word. I not only had to present the study, but also learn the means of writing the codes for the website to present the studies. This was not a burden to me, because what I had learned in the presenting of The Word, enabled me to setup and present the first website for the company in which I was working at the time. But the enemy of my soul did not back off, or left me alone to study The Word of GOD. The enemy sought to present every interest that he thought that would grip at my heart to interest me, but I never lost the interest in the study of The Word, because what I had learned was in my heart to share with others, and that desire kept me studying The Word. Although the interest of the things that the enemy presented gripped my heart at times, I found that these things were never satisfying for any real lasting time. But he would present the same things with new faces, to keep the same things interesting to the hearts of men.

It was during these struggles back and forth in the movement of my heart that the study with the title “What’s the point” that I began to question what is the point of it all? I have since then removed the study from the website, because there was limited space available to hold and store other studies that I felt were also important. As time allow, since I have more space available for storage, I will restore to the site, as I have done with the “Test of Faith”, which was removed for the same reason. It was during my study of The Word and seeking an answer to the question “What’s the Point” that I had a glimpse in viewing the answer, and saw that I needed to pursue more of The Word, to present my answer to this question. It was winter and the company I worked for had given to the workers a longer than usual Christmas break, and I used that time for study and sharing, while still battling with the interest that the enemy presented my way to lose my interest in the study of The Word. After that long break from work, with more time to study The Word in pursuit of the answer, the first indication of where my heart was leading me came just around the time when I was due to return to work after that long break. I did not want to show up for work on the first day back, but had to. And neither did I want to drive to work, to show up for work, but did not feel in my heart it was right to not show up to work, to at least give them notice of my plans to quit. So I did go to work that early morning, not knowing what the future would bring, and thinking of how I would break the news to my boss and the other workers. One of the things I loved to do, since I was in an office to myself, I would listen to the Christians radio stations, while I did my work. This was also a means of feeding my soul The Word of GOD. I found myself taking notes, which helped me in my own personal study. At times there would be a study on a topic of interest, and I would be called away from my office to work on a project, with the desire to hear the message. I would pull myself away to work on the project to hopefully get back to hear the message. It was a blessing that some programs were repeated later during the same day, so I could hear the complete message. But this one morning back from the long Christmas break, there was a message being presented that drove home the point as to what I needed to do, and I received the message as from GOD through the speaker, who I knew did not know my situation. So I went into the main office of the company and presented to my boss my intentions of quitting the company. Normally we are to give notice with some time given for them to find a replacement, but I stated to my boss that I was impressed to quit that day, from the message that I heard of The Word on the radio. Now I did not say to him that I received the message from the radio, but my decision to quite was based on what was in my heart and the message given to confirm my decision. It was hard to explain to someone, who did not know what I was dealing with in my search for The Point of it all. There were projects in the works. Projects that were to be worked on in the construction process, in all stages of development, including the design stage where I spent some of the time, but was needed in other areas of the development of the projects. So when I left the company, and had said my good by’s to the workers there, everyone was in shock as to my decision to quite. For I had seen many workers come and go, now I was leaving, to follow the interest of my heart.

It was a few weeks after I quit that a worker from the office who was also a Christian got in touch with me, and shared her concerns of why I had quit to leave the company with projects uncompleted, and no one to complete them. Another worker also shared the situation of the company to me. I felt that I had left them high and dry, not able to move. The condition that I left the company in, worked on my heart, to consider at least going back to the company to finish the projects in progress. And during this time, the enemy of my soul also worked on my heart to feel guilty of leaving the company in that condition. I went back to the company to complete the projects and see them through, but as time went on questions began to be placed on my heart. Question like, how would I pay my bills?, and questions on how in many things that concerned me in meeting my needs. I ended up staying a work longer than was expected to finish the projects and return to my pursuit in studying and presenting The Word. And during that time, one of the workers, who encouraged me to return to the company, had quit.

Another opportunity was presented to me to follow the interest of my heart of ministering The Word of GOD full time, and again I went to my boss to tell him of my plans to quit. This time I was ready to leave everything that was personal to me in my office and not look back. I was even willing to leave my 401k, which still had some funds in it, because of drawing on it to pay some bills. But after some time of being gone, the manager got in touch with me to come back to the company to fill out the papers to receive the 401k funds and to walk them through the procedures of doing what I did in the design phase and the steps in converting a design project into a full scale to size project to match the project design products. And this is what I did. I did not go back to continue working again for the company. I felt that I should at least show them what I did and how I did it that they might keep moving forward. I did see my boss again in passing, but I did not request of him to receive my old job back. I did make sure my co-workers had access to my website so that they could keep in touch. The 401k check came in the mail and it was deposited in to bank to pay my bills, which lasted only for a while and did run empty. But during this time of my interest in the study of The Word of GOD, what little I did have, looking back, I found that I was still blessed. And that was over a year ago. The Lord by His providence has sustained me in HIS Word of study.

It was during my study of GOD’S Word and presenting HIS Word on the website, that I began to present a study on our ability in dealing with sin, it’s nature, how we cannot wash it off and how we are swimming in it. The topic that I was dealing with was our ability to examine ourselves. One of the things that drew my interest was how Christ was willing to leave all of His heavenly possessions to come and give His Life for us. In one of the studies presented, it was shown that we must come to Christ, learn of Him and then go for Him, to present HIS Word through us, as His Light shinning through us. As I have learned early in my study of The Word, all that we have learned of GOD has comes from the study of The Word through His disciples. Whenever I was led to present Scripture, I sought to reveal the person through whom The Word spoke in presenting The Father’s Will through them. It is how we have all come to know The Word of GOD by them in receiving HIS Word. It is not just John, or Peter only, or one of His disciples. It is all, who would receive Christ as The Light and Life of men. For it is written, “But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, [even] to them that believe on his name” (John 1:12). But it is even more than just being in a casual relationship with Christ, or knowing about Him. It is being in that covenant relationship with Him, where He has given His heart of love for us, and we are to give our hearts of love to Him.

In the study I was working on, I drew an illustration like a download indicator bar, or a progress indicator showing the progress of some work in progress. In the study, the work in progress is the heart that has yielded to the work of being transformed from a heart and nature of sin, to a heart of Christ, Who has complete access to the heart. The question that was raised in the study, “ How much of my heart am I willing to give up…?” in order for Christ to have completeness, or to download completely His heart and divine nature into our hearts? It was presented in the study of a heart transplant, with an progress indicator showing from 0% to 100% with three positions between of 25%, 50% and 75% to completion. Sometimes during the progress of our downloading projects, we get a problem of a file being downloaded to our computers, and at some point in the progress it stops. And wait, and you wait, and you wait, but there seems to be no progress. You are tempted to reboot and try again. But what does it mean for the sinner in this world, who is still at 0% of the Divine Nature, and is 100% of the selfish nature of sin? What does it mean for the Christian, who is only at 5% to 50% complete in the progress of completion? And the progress indicator shows that it has come to a stop before completion? You wait and you wait, and you wait to see movement. The Question, Should you reboot, and start over?, and hope the connection would be reestablished to complete the progress?

There are many that are in varying phases of learning of Christ, which is the study of The Word, to have His Mind in us, but the enemy of our souls have presented many things to slow, to stop, or even to reverse the progress of our receiving The Nature and Mind of Christ, Who is our Head. We cannot be complete in Him, if we are still holding on to even 5% of self. Paul said, “…I die daily” (1 Corinthians 15:31). Yet he said, it was Christ, Who lived in him. For he said, “I am crucified with Christ: nevertheless I live; yet not I, but Christ liveth in me: and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by the faith of the Son of God, who loved me, and gave himself for me” (Galatians 2:20). When we die daily to self and make room for Christ, then there is progress towards completion. But if we have come to a stop in our growing in Christ, then the enemy presents more and more things to interest our hearts to slow, or even stop our progress.

The Covenant of GOD and man is HIS Son, Who lived perfectly The Character of GOD The Father to men. When men say they don’t need to abide by GOD’S Covenant to them, then what are they saying? What has the enemy of their souls blinded their minds to say? They are saying that they don’t need to abide in GOD’S Covenant of Life. Yet, it is through Christ that GOD The Father gave to man knowledge of HIS Law of Love. For Jesus said, “If ye love me, keep my commandments” (John 14:15), for Christ is our Connecting Link, Who binds us together with The Father of all Gifts. For it is written, “For the Father judgeth no man, but hath committed all judgment unto the Son: That all [men] should honour the Son, even as they honour the Father. He that honoureth not the Son honoureth not the Father which hath sent him. Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that heareth my word, and believeth on him that sent me, hath everlasting life, and shall not come into condemnation; but is passed from death unto life” (John 5:22,23). It was through John the world received these words, to give honor and glory to both to GOD and HIS Son. And through him it is written, “Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that heareth my word, and believeth on him that sent me, hath everlasting life, and shall not come into condemnation; but is passed from death unto life” (John 5:24).

Again, through John, it is written, “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved. He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God. And this is the condemnation, that light is come into the world, and men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil. For every one that doeth evil hateth the light, neither cometh to the light, lest his deeds should be reproved. But he that doeth truth cometh to the light, that his deeds may be made manifest, that they are wrought in God” (John 3:16-21).

The Word was spoken to us through John and said, “Beloved, believe not every spirit, but try the spirits whether they are of God: because many false prophets are gone out into the world. Hereby know ye the Spirit of God: Every spirit that confesseth that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh is of God: And every spirit that confesseth not that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh is not of God: and this is that [spirit] of antichrist, whereof ye have heard that it should come; and even now already is it in the world. Ye are of God, little children, and have overcome them: because greater is he that is in you, than he that is in the world. They are of the world: therefore speak they of the world, and the world heareth them. We are of God: he that knoweth God heareth us; he that is not of God heareth not us. Hereby know we the spirit of truth, and the spirit of error. Beloved, let us love one another: for love is of God; and every one that loveth is born of God, and knoweth God. He that loveth not knoweth not God; for God is love. In this was manifested the love of God toward us, because that God sent his only begotten Son into the world, that we might live through him. Herein is love, not that we loved God, but that he loved us, and sent his Son [to be] the propitiation for our sins. Beloved, if God so loved us, we ought also to love one another. No man hath seen God at any time. If we love one another, God dwelleth in us, and his love is perfected in us” (1John 4:1-12).

As The Word was revealed through him, who said, “If we love one another, God dwelleth in us, and his love is perfected in us” (1John 4:12). And by him in his witness of The Word of GOD, John said, “That which was from the beginning, which we have heard, which we have seen with our eyes, which we have looked upon, and our hands have handled, of the Word of life; (For the life was manifested, and we have seen [it], and bear witness, and shew unto you that eternal life, which was with the Father, and was manifested unto us;) That which we have seen and heard declare we unto you, that ye also may have fellowship with us: and truly our fellowship [is] with the Father, and with his Son Jesus Christ. And these things write we unto you, that your joy may be full. This then is the message which we have heard of him, and declare unto you, that God is light, and in him is no darkness at all. If we say that we have fellowship with him, and walk in darkness, we lie, and do not the truth: But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship one with another, and the blood of Jesus Christ his Son cleanseth us from all sin. If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us. If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us [our] sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. If we say that we have not sinned, we make him a liar, and his word is not in us” (1John 1:1-10).

As The Word was revealed through Paul, who said, “I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, [which is] your reasonable service. And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what [is] that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God. For I say, through the grace given unto me, to every man that is among you, not to think [of himself] more highly than he ought to think; but to think soberly, according as God hath dealt to every man the measure of faith. For as we have many members in one body, and all members have not the same office: So we, [being] many, are one body in Christ, and every one members one of another. Having then gifts differing according to the grace that is given to us, whether prophecy, [let us prophesy] according to the proportion of faith; Or ministry, [let us wait] on [our] ministering: or he that teacheth, on teaching; Or he that exhorteth, on exhortation: he that giveth, [let him do it] with simplicity; he that ruleth, with diligence; he that sheweth mercy, with cheerfulness. [Let] love be without dissimulation.

“Abhor that which is evil; cleave to that which is good. [Be] kindly affectioned one to another with brotherly love; in honour preferring one another; Not slothful in business; fervent in spirit; serving the Lord; Rejoicing in hope; patient in tribulation; continuing instant in prayer; Distributing to the necessity of saints; given to hospitality. Bless them which persecute you: bless, and curse not. Rejoice with them that do rejoice, and weep with them that weep. [Be] of the same mind one toward another. Mind not high things, but condescend to men of low estate. Be not wise in your own conceits. Recompense to no man evil for evil. Provide things honest in the sight of all men. If it be possible, as much as lieth in you, live peaceably with all men. Dearly beloved, avenge not yourselves, but [rather] give place unto wrath: for it is written, Vengeance [is] mine; I will repay, saith the Lord. Therefore if thine enemy hunger, feed him; if he thirst, give him drink: for in so doing thou shalt heap coals of fire on his head. Be not overcome of evil, but overcome evil with good” (Romans 12:1-21).

It was revealed to us through John saying, “Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that believeth on me, the works that I do shall he do also; and greater [works] than these shall he do; because I go unto my Father. And whatsoever ye shall ask in my name, that will I do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son. If ye shall ask any thing in my name, I will do [it]. If ye love me, keep my commandments. And I will pray the Father, and he shall give you another Comforter, that he may abide with you for ever; [Even] the Spirit of truth; whom the world cannot receive, because it seeth him not, neither knoweth him: but ye know him; for he dwelleth with you, and shall be in you. I will not leave you comfortless: I will come to you. Yet a little while, and the world seeth me no more; but ye see me: because I live, ye shall live also. At that day ye shall know that I [am] in my Father, and ye in me, and I in you. He that hath my commandments, and keepeth them, he it is that loveth me: and he that loveth me shall be loved of my Father, and I will love him, and will manifest myself to him” (John 14:12-21).

For The Word also said, “I am the true vine, and my Father is the husbandman. Every branch in me that beareth not fruit he taketh away: and every [branch] that beareth fruit, he purgeth it, that it may bring forth more fruit. Now ye are clean through the word which I have spoken unto you” (John 15:1-3). As Paul also said, “Let this mind be in you, which was also in Christ Jesus:” (Philippians 2:5). I pray we will open the door of our heart to let His Mind be in us, that He might abide completely in us and we might abide completely in Him. Amen.
