Reflecting the Light on the Problem

The simple illustrations below will help to shed some light on the problem that we might understand why the world is in darkness to the gospel of Christ.

(a)   (b)

In the picture "a" you see a light bulb, due to no power of its own, fulfilling the function for which it was designed--to give Light from the Power Source.

In picture "b" the same bulb is unable to fulfill its function--no connection to the Power Source.

Right away you are able to see the problem in picture "b" and the reason for the bulb not fulfilling its function for which it was designed.

But, what if you did not have that ability to see the problem? Would it be as apparent to you, in discerning the cause of the problem in picture "b"?

Look at picture "c".

(c)
No light to find the problem.

Notice that without a source of light in picture "b", you would
not have known the cause of the problem.

The above illustration has helped to shed some light on the problem this world is facing.

Although we have eyes to see and to discern the problems of this world, we find it difficult to see the real cause of our problems.

In speaking to His disciples about the world's ability to see and understand the mysteries of the kingdom of heaven, Jesus said to them, "It is given unto you to know the mysteries of the kingdom of heaven, but to them it is not given. For whosoever hath, to him shall be given, and he shall have more abundance: but whosoever hath not, from him shall be taken away even that he hath.

"Therefore speak I to them in parables: because they seeing see not; and hearing they hear not, neither do they understand. And in them is fulfilled the prophecy of Esaias, which saith, By hearing ye shall hear, and shall not understand; and seeing ye shall see, and shall not perceive: For this people's heart is waxed gross, and their ears are dull of hearing, and their eyes they have closed; lest at any time they should see with their eyes, and hear with their ears, and should understand with their heart, and should be converted, and I should heal them.

"But blessed are your eyes, for they see: and your ears, for they hear. For verily I say unto you, That many prophets and righteous men have desired to see those things which ye see, and have not seen them; and to hear those things which ye hear, and have not heard them" (Matthew 13:11-17).

From the illustration and the Scripture text presented above, it is clear that the problem with this world is that it is unable to see and hear the Truth of the gospel, which are the mysteries of the kingdom of heaven, which Christ came to reveal to all men who would receive Him. Like the bulb that has no light, the man in darkness is unable to bear the fruit of The Spirit, neither is he able to understand the things of God, because his mind is spiritually disconnected from The Source of Truth.

By remaining in darkness--disconnected from God, the world fails to see and understand the mysteries being understood by faith. Without this understanding, the hearts of men remain unconverted and Christ is not able to heal them.

This is the problem this world is facing. Many are living in this world of darkness without faith in The Word of God, and because of this, the things of the Kingdom of God remains a mystery to them. It is therefore impossible for one to gain Wisdom, Knowledge and Understand of the Spiritual things of God without first accepting Christ The Word of God.

This leads us to the next question, What is the cause of the problem?
