It is a topic of study, which many try to avoid, because they are fearful of what they might find. As it is written in Isaiah 28:21, the wrath of GOD is called HIS strange work, or HIS strange act. It is strange, because much of what is heard in the preaching of the gospel is said to be the message of GOD'S great love for man, to save men and women from their sin. But how could a GOD of love be depicted, or be described by those who preach the gospel as ONE, WHO would pour out HIS wrath upon the creation, which HE has made? And how do we come to love HIM when HE is portrayed in our minds as having two sides to HIS character? How do we approach such a GOD? How do we know what mood HE might be in that we might approach HIM?

THE GOSPEL of GOD'S WRATH

For many years, the wrath of GOD was preached from the pulpit by preachers who used the message of "GOD'S Wrath" as a means to keep their members under their control. Although the preachers at the time felt that they were responsible for the building up and the maintaining of the Church, they felt that it was also their responsibility to prepare their members for the soon coming of the LORD. Today, many who would be Christians have turned their backs against GOD, because of the image that was painted in their minds by the presenters of HIS Word. They do not see how they can love a GOD, WHO is described as ONE, WHO will pour out HIS wrath on the nations of the world.

The image of GOD portrayed in the minds of those, who have turn their backs against GOD is described as being worst than Adolph Hitler. Some, who preach the message of GOD'S wrath, have painted a picture in which all who will be saved from the wrath of GOD will come to the saving and loving arms of Christ. This picture is so embedded in the minds of men and women that today many see Christ death on the cross as the means by which He saved us from the wrath of His Father. Without knowing the Truth of how GOD'S wrath was poured out upon HIS Son, those who present this view of GOD the Father have painted a picture of HIM in which, HE is separated from HIS Son in HIS love for sinful man. They promote this view, by painting the picture of Christ pleading to the Father to save us because of His blood. It is pictures like these which are impressed upon the minds of men and women that keep men and women from having a desirer for a closer walk with their heavenly Father. They desire to be there with The Father, only if Jesus will be there to protect them from The Father's wrath, or in case HE changes HIS mood and pours out HIS wrath upon them. It is views like this in the minds of men and women that will keep them far from the presence of The LORD, because they know HIM not.

It was The LORD, WHO said to us by HIS Word saying, "Behold, I will send my messenger, and he shall prepare the way before me: and the Lord, whom ye seek, shall suddenly come to his temple, even the messenger of the covenant, whom ye delight in: behold, he shall come, saith the LORD of hosts. But who may abide the day of his coming? and who shall stand when he appeareth? for he is like a refinerís fire, and like fullersí soap: And he shall sit as a refiner and purifier of silver: and he shall purify the sons of Levi, and purge them as gold and silver, that they may offer unto the LORD an offering in righteousness. Then shall the offering of Judah and Jerusalem be pleasant unto the LORD, as in the days of old, and as in former years. And I will come near to you to judgment; and I will be a swift witness against the sorcerers, and against the adulterers, and against false swearers, and against those that oppress the hireling in his wages, the widow, and the fatherless, and that turn aside the stranger from his right, and fear not me, saith The LORD of hosts. For I am the LORD, I change not; therefore ye sons of Jacob are not consumed" (Malachi 3:1-6).

Notice that it is through The Messenger of The LORD that The Father comes to men and prepares The Way before HIM. It is He, Who comes like a refinerís fire that through Him the sons of Levi might be purified. It is through Him that The Father will purge them as gold and silver that they might offer unto The LORD an offering in righteousness. It is The Son of GOD that will come in a day, which many will stand not at His appearing. It is through Him that The Father comes near to man to Judgment. For The Word of GOD said, "For judgment I am come into this world, that they which see not might see; and that they which see might be made blind" (John 9:39). It is through Him that The Father makes it known to man that HE is The LORD, WHO change not.

It is through HIS Word that The Father makes the picture clear to man, saying, "For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved. He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God. And this is the condemnation, that light is come into the world, and men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil. For every one that doeth evil hateth the light, neither cometh to the light, lest his deeds should be reproved. But he that doeth truth cometh to the light, that his deeds may be made manifest, that they are wrought in God" (John 3:16-21).

It is through The Word of GOD, Whom The Father has sent that man is shown The Way to The Father. It is only through the revelation that is reveal by GOD through HIS Son that we are brought into close fellowship with GOD. For by forsaking our ways and our unrighteous thoughts and believing and following The Light HE has shined on our path, we are drawn back to our heavenly Father. By submitting to HIS Will, Which is for our own well being, HE will have mercy upon us and will abundantly pardon us from all of our sins.

However, some might be asking the question, "If man chooses to forsake The Mercy of GOD and continue to believe and follow his own wicked ways and his unrighteous thoughts, will GOD destroy him by pouring out HIS wrath on him?" It is the answer to this question that makes the gospel of GOD such good news. It is also the understanding of the gospel that helps us to understand the answer to this question. For without the understanding of the gospel, or the good news from GOD, the answer to the question on the wrath of GOD will not make sense.

Jesus testified and said, "...He that believeth on me, believeth not on me, but on him that sent me. And he that seeth me seeth him that sent me. I am come a light into the world, that whosoever believeth on me should not abide in darkness. And if any man hear my words, and believe not, I judge him not: for I came not to judge the world, but to save the world. He that rejecteth me, and receiveth not my words, hath one that judgeth him: the word that I have spoken, the same shall judge him in the last day. For I have not spoken of myself; but the Father which sent me, he gave me a commandment, what I should say, and what I should speak. And I know that his commandment is life everlasting: whatsoever I speak therefore, even as the Father said unto me, so I speak" (John 12:44-50).

Notice that the key to understand the answer to the question above is in receiving the gospel of God. Jesus said, if we believe on Him, we really believe on the Father, WHO sent Him. And if we are able to see Him, we are really seeing what The Father is like in HIS love towards us. For He came as a Light into this world of darkness that whosoever believes His gospel and does the will of The Father, WHO sent Him, he or she will not abide in darkness, but will know The Truth of GOD. However, if that man or woman shall hear of His gospel, which is from the Father, and he or she chooses to reject the Father and HIS Word, Whom HE has sent, then Jesus said that He will not judge him, or her, for He came not to judge the world, but to save the world. And if He came to save the world, then it means that all who are in darkness to The Truth and those who reject The Truth are already lost. The Word of GOD is Life, and those who receive Him have already received Life. But those who reject The Gift of GOD remain lost in darkness and death.

The study on the wrath of GOD will be understood more clearly once the gospel of God is understood. It is my prayer that what you have received in this part of the presentation on GOD'S Wrath will help to draw you closer to The Truth that you might understand why the wrath of GOD is called HIS strange Act, and why the gospel is good news.
