To abide in the Word,
or to be separated from God

There are many who believe in the promise of Christ second coming and the hope of being received into His kingdom when He comes. If ask of their love for Him, they will testify that they love the Lord and are willing to follow Him wherever He leads them. Yet, the Lord has revealed and said, "Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven. Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works? And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity. Therefore whosoever heareth these sayings of mine, and doeth them, I will liken him unto a wise man, which built his house upon a rock:

"And the rain descended, and the floods came, and the winds blew, and beat upon that house; and it fell not: for it was founded upon a rock. And every one that heareth these sayings of mine, and doeth them not, shall be likened unto a foolish man, which built his house upon the sand: And the rain descended, and the floods came, and the winds blew, and beat upon that house; and it fell: and great was the fall of it" (Matthew 7:21-27).

The Rock of foundation upon which the house of God is built, is the Word of God, Who gave to man the commandments of God. If we confess that we know and love the Lord and keep not His commandments, John testified that we are liars and the Truth is not in us. It is for this reason that Jesus will declear at His coming to those who keep not His Father's commandments, "I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity". If He, the Truth is not in us, then He will declear that He has not known us, because we have not received Him to do the Father's will. To do the work of iniquity, means to break the commandments of God. This Simply means to sin or separate from the Word of Life, to remain in death.
