The Vow to be their God,
and the children of Israel to be His people.

When Moses was keeping the flock of sheep, he saw something that drew his attention and caused him to turned and draw closer to see this sight. For it is written that "...the angel of the LORD appeared unto him in a flame of fire out of the midst of a bush: and he looked, and, behold, the bush burned with fire, and the bush [was] not consumed" (Exodus 3:2). Notice that it was "The angel of The LORD, Who had appeared unto him. Through HIS Messenger to Moses, The LORD spoke to him and revealed to him HIS Will. For it is revealed that, "...when the LORD saw that he turned aside to see, God called unto him out of the midst of the bush, and said, Moses, Moses. And he said, Here [am] I. And he said, Draw not nigh hither: put off thy shoes from off thy feet, for the place whereon thou standest [is] holy ground. Moreover he said, I [am] the God of thy father, the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob. And Moses hid his face; for he was afraid to look upon God. And the LORD said, I have surely seen the affliction of my people which [are] in Egypt, and have heard their cry by reason of their taskmasters; for I know their sorrows; And I am come down to deliver them out of the hand of the Egyptians, and to bring them up out of that land unto a good land and a large, unto a land flowing with milk and honey; unto the place of the Canaanites, and the Hittites, and the Amorites, and the Perizzites, and the Hivites, and the Jebusites. Now therefore, behold, the cry of the children of Israel is come unto me: and I have also seen the oppression wherewith the Egyptians oppress them. Come now therefore, and I will send thee unto Pharaoh, that thou mayest bring forth my people the children of Israel out of Egypt. And he said, Certainly I will be with thee; and this [shall be] a token unto thee, that I have sent thee: When thou hast brought forth the people out of Egypt, ye shall serve God upon this mountain" (Exodus 3:4-12).

If we could read a book simply by reading its' cover, then we would not need to open it and read its' contents. But this is not the case for those, who build their relationship with those, whom they love, especially for those, who seek to go beyond just being friends, or even to be children of God. For generations after the sin of Adam, many in the human family had lost a knowledge of GOD. They only knew a few things about HIM, as an acquaintance, or someone you see once a week or even less. And from what they knew of HIM, they sought to worship HIM according to their own understanding. But GOD has been revealing HIMSELF all along to those, and through those, who walked with HIM and sought to know HIM by HIS Word, such as Joseph and Enoch, and the fathers of the children of Israel, such as Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob. And because of that fellowship with GOD, all, who walked with GOD by following HIS Word were to be blessed of GOD, WHO promised a blessing to them. As it was revealed to us by The Sure Word, Who moved upon the heart of Peter, to speak to us of the men of old, He said through him, saying, " prophecy of the scripture is of any private interpretation. For the prophecy came not in old time by the will of man: but holy men of God spake [as they were] moved by the Holy Ghost" (2 Peter 1:20, 21).

These men were holy, because they walked with God, and God blessed them by walking with them. For HE said to Isaac by HIS Word, "...I will be with thee, and will bless thee; for unto thee, and unto thy seed, I will give all these countries, and I will perform the oath which I sware unto Abraham thy father; And I will make thy seed to multiply as the stars of heaven, and will give unto thy seed all these countries; and in thy seed shall all the nations of the earth be blessed; Because that Abraham obeyed my voice, and kept my charge, my commandments, my statutes, and my laws" (Genesis 26:3-5).

I will be with thee
will bless thee
for unto thee
and unto thy seed
I will give all these countries
I will perform the oath
I will make thy seed to multiply
in thy seed shall all the nations
of the earth be blessed

Abraham obeyed my voice
kept my charge
my commandments
my statutes
my laws

As promised, GOD by HIS Word did perform the oath of HIS Word to the seed of Jacob. But the enemy of souls had other plans, to keep The Seed of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob from being a blessing to all the nations of the earth. It is written that "...there arose up a new king over Egypt, which knew not Joseph. And he said unto his people, Behold, the people of the children of Israel [are] more and mightier than we: Come on, let us deal wisely with them; lest they multiply, and it come to pass, that, when there falleth out any war, they join also unto our enemies, and fight against us, and [so] get them up out of the land. Therefore they did set over them taskmasters to afflict them with their burdens. And they built for Pharaoh treasure cities, Pithom and Raamses. But the more they afflicted them, the more they multiplied and grew. And they were grieved because of the children of Israel. And the Egyptians made the children of Israel to serve with rigour: And they made their lives bitter with hard bondage, in morter, and in brick, and in all manner of service in the field: all their service, wherein they made them serve, [was] with rigour" (Exodus 1:8-14).

Notice that the nation of Egypt was being blessed by GOD through the seed of the children of Israel, but this new king feared the growth of the children of Israel, and turned against them because if they were to join with his enemies to fight against him and his people, they--the children of Israel would be carried off up out of the land of the king and his people. Notice what GOD said by HIS Word to Moses. HE said, "...I am come down to deliver them out of the hand of the Egyptians, and to bring them up out of that land unto a good land and a large, unto a land flowing with milk and honey" The king feared that they would grow to large and fight against him and his people, yet, he would afflicted them in his service with his hard bondage in all manner of service.

To afflict the souls of the children of Israel, the new king appointed taskmasters over them, to burden them with the building of his treasure cities. But as The Word said, "..the more they afflicted them, the more they multiplied and grew." So to limit the growth of the seed of the children of Israel, and to prevent all nations from being blessed through the seed of the children of Israel, this new king had devised a plan. He "...spake to the Hebrew midwives, of which the name of the one [was] Shiphrah, and the name of the other Puah: And he said, When ye do the office of a midwife to the Hebrew women, and see [them] upon the stools; if it [be] a son, then ye shall kill him: but if it [be] a daughter, then she shall live. But the midwives feared God, and did not as the king of Egypt commanded them, but saved the men children alive. And the king of Egypt called for the midwives, and said unto them, Why have ye done this thing, and have saved the men children alive? And the midwives said unto Pharaoh, Because the Hebrew women [are] not as the Egyptian women; for they [are] lively, and are delivered ere the midwives come in unto them. Therefore God dealt well with the midwives: and the people multiplied, and waxed very mighty. And it came to pass, because the midwives feared God, that he made them houses. And Pharaoh charged all his people, saying, Every son that is born ye shall cast into the river, and every daughter ye shall save alive" (Exodus 1:15-22). Notice that this new king give his command that in following them, the midwives would follow against The Will of GOD and HIS Word. But because midwives knew and feared God, they kept and obeyed HIS commandments and did not join with the king in obeying his law. They did not fight with the king against their own people.

GOD give HIS Word of Promise to Adam and Eve in the garden of Eden, and said by Him "...I will put enmity between thee and the woman, and between thy seed and her seed; it shall bruise thy head, and thou shalt bruise his heel" (Genesis 3:15). As the enemy of souls worked against GOD and man in the garden of Eden, to cause man to sin, or separate from GOD and HIS Word. He worked his subtil work through the new king of Egypt, and sought to destroy the seed through whom The Blessing would come to all nations. Through his hard bondage in all manner of service in building his cities, he sought to cut off any new growth by killing all the male births, leaving only the women and their daughters alive. Are there rulers today enacting laws that would do the same work against their own people, and the Law of GOD and HIS Word?

As The Angel was sent, and through Him The LORD spoke and revealed HIS Will directly to Moses, so likewise, The LORD moved upon Moses by HIS Word and sent him to speak and reveal HIS Will by HIS Angel through him to Pharaoh and to the children of Israel. For he--Moses was The Angel's connection to them, as The Angel was GOD'S Connection to man, who was separated in sin. But this was not always the case. For The Word of GOD testified of His connection with The Father and with man, saying, "...I was by him, [as] one brought up [with him]: and I was daily [his] delight, rejoicing always before him; Rejoicing in the habitable part of his earth; and my delights [were] with the sons of men" (Proverbs 8:30,31). But after sin came into the picture, it has been His word to restore the delight of His Joy with men--the habitable part of the earth, which had lost their connection with Him.

For it is written "...Moses said unto God, Behold, [when] I come unto the children of Israel, and shall say unto them, The God of your fathers hath sent me unto you; and they shall say to me, What [is] his name? what shall I say unto them? And God said unto Moses, I AM THAT I AM: and he said, Thus shalt thou say unto the children of Israel, I AM hath sent me unto you. And God said moreover unto Moses, Thus shalt thou say unto the children of Israel, The LORD God of your fathers, the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob, hath sent me unto you: this [is] my name for ever, and this [is] my memorial unto all generations" (Exodus 3:13-15).

The Only Way for GOD to speak directly to the children of Israel, was for HIM to speak by HIS Angel to Moses, and by HIS Angel through Moses, speak to the children of Israel. The very Word given him by HIS Word--HIS Angel, he Moses were to speak to them. For The Angel said to him, "I AM hath sent me unto you" (Exodus 3:14)..

After being sent as a messenger of The Word of The LORD to Pharaoh, and to the children of Israel in revealing HIS will to them, The Angel, Who was with Moses worked with him in bringing the children of Israel to The Mountain of GOD, where they--the children of Israel were to receive His vow to them, which He had promised to Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, to be their God, and that they were to be His people. His vow to them was based upon their accepting and keeping the statutes of the vow with Him, Who longed to restore the delight of His Joy with man. But as it is written, "...all the people saw the thunderings, and the lightnings, and the noise of the trumpet, and the mountain smoking: and when the people saw [it], they removed, and stood afar off. And they said unto Moses, Speak thou with us, and we will hear: but let not God speak with us, lest we die. And Moses said unto the people, Fear not: for God is come to prove you, and that his fear may be before your faces, that ye sin not. And the people stood afar off, and Moses drew near unto the thick darkness where God [was]" (Exodus 20:18-21).

Notice that Moses drew near to where God was, but the children of Israel stood afar off from The Lord, Who wanted them to be close to Him, Who worked through Moses to draw them unto the mountain of The Lord to know HIS Will, and to reveal to them the principles that would identify them as His people in a world, which was in darkness to HIS Will. But they did not want to hear GOD'S Voice speaking to them directly. They said they would hear through Moses, but not GOD'S Voice, lest we die. As it was stated above, "If we could read a book simply by reading its' cover, then we would not need to open it and read its' contents." In a related way, if a wife wanted a strong relationship between herself and her husband, then she would not send her best friend to do all the interactions between herself and her husband. And if the members of our churches wanted a deeper relationship with GOD, then they would not build their relationship to HIM by men, who only present HIS Word for the pay as a "JOB". They would seek to know HIM personally, to build their own relationship with HIM, to know HIM by HIS Word, Who is The Only One, Who could reveal HIM to men. But to do this, we must come to HIM through HIS Angel--HIS Word to our hearts. For He is our Light and Life in coming to know GOD.

To instruct the children of Israel in knowing and doing GOD'S Will, The Angel of The LORD spoke to them through Moses and he said, "...when ye heard the voice out of the midst of the darkness, (for the mountain did burn with fire,) that ye came near unto me, [even] all the heads of your tribes, and your elders; And ye said, Behold, the LORD our God hath shewed us his glory and his greatness, and we have heard his voice out of the midst of the fire: we have seen this day that God doth talk with man, and he liveth. Now therefore why should we die? for this great fire will consume us: if we hear the voice of the LORD our God any more, then we shall die. For who [is there of] all flesh, that hath heard the voice of the living God speaking out of the midst of the fire, as we [have], and lived? Go thou near, and hear all that the LORD our God shall say: and speak thou unto us all that the LORD our God shall speak unto thee; and we will hear [it], and do [it]. And the LORD heard the voice of your words, when ye spake unto me; and the LORD said unto me, I have heard the voice of the words of this people, which they have spoken unto thee: they have well said all that they have spoken.

"O that there were such an heart in them, that they would fear me, and keep all my commandments always, that it might be well with them, and with their children for ever! Go say to them, Get you into your tents again. But as for thee, stand thou here by me, and I will speak unto thee all the commandments, and the statutes, and the judgments, which thou shalt teach them, that they may do [them] in the land which I give them to possess it. Ye shall observe to do therefore as the LORD your God hath commanded you: ye shall not turn aside to the right hand or to the left. Ye shall walk in all the ways which the LORD your God hath commanded you, that ye may live, and [that it may be] well with you, and [that] ye may prolong [your] days in the land which ye shall possess" (Deuteronomy 5:23-33).

Notice that we can sense and hear the longing desire in HIS Voice, to restore and make that connection again between Himself and His people, who would draw close to Him, to reverence Him, and to honour and respect Him. In the hope of building that close relationship with Him, we will grow to know and love Him, in knowing how much He loves us all, to blessed us that that we might witness to others to receive Him and draw closes to Him. For it is written that " many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, [even] to them that believe on his name: Which were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God" (John 1:12).

In the hope to drawing His people close to HIM, HE said by HIS Word through His servant Moses saying, "Hear, O Israel: The LORD our God [is] one LORD: And thou shalt love the LORD thy God with all thine heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy might. And these words, which I command thee this day, shall be in thine heart: And thou shalt teach them diligently unto thy children, and shalt talk of them when thou sittest in thine house, and when thou walkest by the way, and when thou liest down, and when thou risest up. And thou shalt bind them for a sign upon thine hand, and they shall be as frontlets between thine eyes. And thou shalt write them upon the posts of thy house, and on thy gates. And thou shalt write them upon the posts of thy house, and on thy gates. And it shall be, when the LORD thy God shall have brought thee into the land which he sware unto thy fathers, to Abraham, to Isaac, and to Jacob, to give thee great and goodly cities, which thou buildedst not, And houses full of all good [things], which thou filledst not, and wells digged, which thou diggedst not, vineyards and olive trees, which thou plantedst not; when thou shalt have eaten and be full; [Then] beware lest thou forget the LORD, which brought thee forth out of the land of Egypt, from the house of bondage" (Deuteronomy 6:4-12).

All that was said by GOD to the children of Israel came to them from GOD by HIS Word through Moses. For HE--The LORD GOD has Testified by HIS Word through His servant Isaiah saying, "I create the fruit of the lips; Peace, peace to [him that is] far off, and to [him that is] near, saith the LORD; and I will heal him. But the wicked [are] like the troubled sea, when it cannot rest, whose waters cast up mire and dirt. [There is] no peace, saith my God, to the wicked" (Isaiah 57:19-21). And by Paul, HE said by and of HIS Word, "By him therefore let us offer the sacrifice of praise to God continually, that is, the fruit of [our] lips giving thanks to his name. But to do good and to communicate forget not: for with such sacrifices God is well pleased" (Hebrews 13:15, 16). It was through the teaching of HIS Word to the children of Israel that they were to learn of GOD through HIS Word, Who spoke to them by His servant Moses that they and their children might draw close to HIM by HIS Word, and to HIS Word through His servant Moses.

"And the LORD said unto Moses, Thus thou shalt say unto the children of Israel, Ye have seen that I have talked with you from heaven. Ye shall not make with me gods of silver, neither shall ye make unto you gods of gold. An altar of earth thou shalt make unto me, and shalt sacrifice thereon thy burnt offerings, and thy peace offerings, thy sheep, and thine oxen: in all places where I record my name I will come unto thee, and I will bless thee" (Exodus 20:22-24). Although Moses communed with God on the Mountain, his relationship with GOD was growing, to know and understand Who was working with him to lead His people. For he said to HIM, WHO can read the hearts of all men, saying, "...See, thou sayest unto me, Bring up this people: and thou hast not let me know whom thou wilt send with me. Yet thou hast said, I know thee by name, and thou hast also found grace in my sight. Now therefore, I pray thee, if I have found grace in thy sight, shew me now thy way, that I may know thee, that I may find grace in thy sight: and consider that this nation [is] thy people. And he said, My presence shall go [with thee], and I will give thee rest" (Exodus 33:12-14).

Moses did not know that GOD was being seen and heard through HIS Son--HIS Tabernacle wherein HIS Presence dwell. HE was being heard by HIS Word, and HE said to him "MY Presence shall go with thee." It was through Paul that HE revealed by HIS Word and said, "Wherefore, holy brethren, partakers of the heavenly calling, consider the Apostle and High Priest of our profession, Christ Jesus; Who was faithful to him that appointed him, as also Moses [was faithful] in all his house. For this [man] was counted worthy of more glory than Moses, inasmuch as he who hath builded the house hath more honour than the house. For every house is builded by some [man]; but he that built all things [is] God. And Moses verily [was] faithful in all his house, as a servant, for a testimony of those things which were to be spoken after; Wherefore (as the Holy Ghost saith, To day if ye will hear his voice, Harden not your hearts, as in the provocation, in the day of temptation in the wilderness: When your fathers tempted me, proved me, and saw my works forty years." (Hebrews 3:1-9).

It was to save the house and dwell of His Spirit with Adam that He came into this world. For it is written, "For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved" (John 3:16, 17). Notice that GOD so loved the world that HE sent HIS Presence, in HIS Son, HIS Word to call to HIMSELF a people that through them, He might bless all nations of the earth to come unto HIM by receiving HIS Word to be children of GOD, or to be dwellers by Him in HIS HOUSE. This is HIS Holy Calling to all, who would receive Him. For Jesus said to Judas of The Father, "...If a man love me, he will keep my words: and my Father will love him, and we will come unto him, and make our abode with him. He that loveth me not keepeth not my sayings: and the word which ye hear is not mine, but the Father's which sent me. These things have I spoken unto you, being [yet] present with you"(John 14:23-25).
