"And it came to pass, when Ahab saw Elijah, that Ahab
said unto him, [Art] thou he that troubleth Israel?"
(1 Kings 18:17).

In the book written of the chronicles of the kings of Israel, "...in the thirty and eighth year of Asa king of Judah began Ahab the son of Omri to reign over Israel: and Ahab the son of Omri reigned over Israel in Samaria twenty and two years. And Ahab the son of Omri did evil in the sight of the LORD above all that [were] before him. And it came to pass, as if it had been a light thing for him to walk in the sins of Jeroboam the son of Nebat, that he took to wife Jezebel the daughter of Ethbaal king of the Zidonians, and went and served Baal, and worshipped him. And he reared up an altar for Baal in the house of Baal, which he had built in Samaria. And Ahab made a grove; and Ahab did more to provoke the LORD God of Israel to anger than all the kings of Israel that were before him. In his days did Hiel the Bethelite build Jericho: he laid the foundation thereof in Abiram his firstborn, and set up the gates thereof in his youngest [son] Segub, according to the word of the LORD, which he spake by Joshua the son of Nun" (1 Kings 16:29-34).

Notice that before Elijah the Tishbite ever appeared on the seen during the reign of King Ahab, he the king had reigned over Israel for twenty two years, after his father Omri was buried. Although the other kings that were before him did evil in the sight of The LORD, The Word of The LORD revealed that Abab, "...did more to provoke the LORD God of Israel to anger than all the kings of Israel that were before him." It is written that "...Elijah the Tishbite, [who was] of the inhabitants of Gilead, said unto Ahab, [As] the LORD God of Israel liveth, before whom I stand, there shall not be dew nor rain these years, but according to my word" (1 Kings 17:1). "And it came to pass [after] many days, that the word of the LORD came to Elijah in the third year, saying, Go, shew thyself unto Ahab; and I will send rain upon the earth. And Elijah went to shew himself unto Ahab. And [there was] a sore famine in Samaria. And Ahab called Obadiah, which [was] the governor of [his] house. (Now Obadiah feared the LORD greatly: For it was [so], when Jezebel cut off the prophets of the LORD, that Obadiah took an hundred prophets, and hid them by fifty in a cave, and fed them with bread and water.) And Ahab said unto Obadiah, Go into the land, unto all fountains of water, and unto all brooks: peradventure we may find grass to save the horses and mules alive, that we lose not all the beasts. So they divided the land between them to pass throughout it: Ahab went one way by himself, and Obadiah went another way by himself. And as Obadiah was in the way, behold, Elijah met him: and he knew him, and fell on his face, and said, [Art] thou that my lord Elijah? And he answered him, I [am]: go, tell thy lord, Behold, Elijah [is here]" (1 Kings 18:1-11).

"So Obadiah went to meet Ahab, and told him: and Ahab went to meet Elijah. And it came to pass, when Ahab saw Elijah, that Ahab said unto him, [Art] thou he that troubleth Israel? And he answered, I have not troubled Israel; but thou, and thy father's house, in that ye have forsaken the commandments of the LORD, and thou hast followed Baalim" (1 Kings 18:16-18).

Elijah made it clear to Ahab that it was he that troubled Israel by forsaking The Commandments of The LORD to follow Baalim. It was said that he walked in the sins of Jeroboam, but that he did above all that were done before him. He took for his wife the daughter of Ethbaal, who was the king of the Zidonians. Her name was Jezebel, which means--"Baal exalts" or "Baal is husband to" or "unchaste". Her father was also named after the god that they exalted and served. His name means--"with Baal". When Ahab took Jezebel for his wife, he went and served Baal, and worshipped him. He served Baal by rearing up an altar for Baal in the house of Baal. Not only did he reared up an altar for Baal, but he built also the house to worship Baal in Samaria, the name of which means--"watch mountain", and from the root meaning, "to keep, observe, heed, keeper, preserve". One might question, "What was it that the city of Samaria were to keep, observe, heed, and preserve? The answer would be "to observe, celebrate, keep (Sabbath, Covenant, Commands), to perform (vow), according to the definitio given in the Strong concordance of The Bible. In addition to building a house to worship Baal, Ahab also made a grove, meaning "sacred trees or poles set up near an altar" for idol worship. All these things that he did, were as if it were a light thing that provoked the LORD God of Israel to anger.

Notice that from the study of GOD'S Vow of promise, Moses was said to be faithful in all The House of The Second Adam, Which we are, if we have received Him, and He has made His abode with us to make us to dwell with Him in His Father's HOUSE. We are to be trees of Christ righteousness in His Father's HOUSE. And since Christ is The Apostle and High Priest of our profession, The Altar in His Father's HOUSE, He spoke by one, who stood with Him, saying, "The Spirit of the Lord GOD [is] upon me; because the LORD hath anointed me to preach good tidings unto the meek; he hath sent me to bind up the brokenhearted, to proclaim liberty to the captives, and the opening of the prison to [them that are] bound; To proclaim the acceptable year of the LORD, and the day of vengeance of our God; to comfort all that mourn; To appoint unto them that mourn in Zion, to give unto them beauty for ashes, the oil of joy for mourning, the garment of praise for the spirit of heaviness; that they might be called trees of righteousness, the planting of the LORD, that he might be glorified. And they shall build the old wastes, they shall raise up the former desolations, and they shall repair the waste cities, the desolations of many generations. And strangers shall stand and feed your flocks, and the sons of the alien [shall be] your plowmen and your vinedressers. But ye shall be named the Priests of the LORD: [men] shall call you the Ministers of our God: ye shall eat the riches of the Gentiles, and in their glory shall ye boast yourselves" (Isaiah 61:1-6).

Notice that the children of Israel were called out of Egypt, and were led by The LORD by HIS Word through Moses, to be His Vineyard, to bless all nations with The Knowledge of HIS Glory, but as it was said above, Ahab and his father's house had walked not in The Way of The LORD, to keep, observe, or preserve the commandments of The LORD; for he had forsaken them to follow Baalim. He did more than all that was done by the kings of Israel, and his father's house before him. With each reigning king that came after King David, there was a walking away from The Holy One, Who was sent to keep them in The Way. For GOD made a covenant with the patriarchs to keep them in The Way, to be there GOD and they were to be His people. But more and more they were being led to sin against The LORD and HIS Word. For the children of Israel made a step away from The LORD and HIS Word by saying to Moses,"Speak thou with us, and we will hear: but let not God speak with us, lest we die" (Exodus 20:19).

After leading the children of Israel to The Mountain of The Lord, this was not the desire of Moses, that the children of Israel should not hear The Voice of The LORD speaking to them from heaven, for he said to Joshua, who was jealous for Moses to remain the only prophet to speak for The Word of The Lord to the children of Israel. But Moses said to Joshua, "...Enviest thou for my sake? would God that all the LORD'S people were prophets, [and] that the LORD would put his spirit upon them!" (Numbers 11:29, 30) The children of Israel were chosen by GOD, and with HIS Covenant with them, they were to be a blessing to all nations in glorifying and making known The Knowledge of GOD in all the earth, to be blessed of GOD. For it is revealed by GOD through His chosen disciples, who said, "...we speak the wisdom of God in a mystery, [even] the hidden [wisdom], which God ordained before the world unto our glory: Which none of the princes of this world knew: for had they known [it], they would not have crucified the Lord of glory. But as it is written, Eye hath not seen, nor ear heard, neither have entered into the heart of man, the things which God hath prepared for them that love him. But God hath revealed [them] unto us by his Spirit: for the Spirit searcheth all things, yea, the deep things of God" (1 Corinthians 2:7-10).

Notice, or Behold that it was The Same Spirit, Who worked The Will of GOD through Moses, and sought to reveal The Things of GOD which no eyes have seen and ears have heard, that by The Knowledge of Them, the children of Israel would have received The Glory of GOD in all the world, to preach and reveal The Hidden Things of GOD to the world. But they drew back from hearing The Voice of The LORD their God to know and receive HIS Will. As they drew back, the enemy of the souls of man saw his opportunity to lead them to follow his ways. When GOD by HIS Word led the Children of Israel by the prophets, HE spoke by HIS Word through Samuel, who revealed HIS Will to the people. But the childern of Israel drew back with another step away from The LORD and HIS Word, to seek to have a king like the other nations to reign over them. The LORD spoke by HIS Word to the elders of Israel, revealing to them the result of their rejecting HIM and HIS Word, and the result of rejecting His servant Samuel, to follow on the path they had chosen. It was through HIS Word that HE spoke to His servant Samuel saying, "...Hearken unto the voice of the people in all that they say unto thee: for they have not rejected thee, but they have rejected me, that I should not reign over them. According to all the works which they have done since the day that I brought them up out of Egypt even unto this day, wherewith they have forsaken me, and served other gods, so do they also unto thee" (1 Samuel 8:7,8).

Samuel was sent to the elders, to reveal to them what would happen if they continue on the path to choose a king, rather than GOD to reigned over them. By The Word of GOD, Samuel said, "...This will be the manner of the king that shall reign over you: He will take your sons, and appoint [them] for himself, for his chariots, and [to be] his horsemen; and [some] shall run before his chariots. And he will appoint him captains over thousands, and captains over fifties; and [will set them] to ear his ground, and to reap his harvest, and to make his instruments of war, and instruments of his chariots. And he will take your daughters [to be] confectionaries, and [to be] cooks, and [to be] bakers. And he your fields, and your vineyards, and your oliveyards, [even] the best [of them], and give [them] to his servants.

"And he will take the tenth of your seed, and of your vineyards, and give to his officers, and to his servants. And he will take your menservants, and your maidservants, and your goodliest young men, and your asses, and put [them] to his work. He will take the tenth of your sheep: and ye shall be his servants. And ye shall cry out in that day because of your king which ye shall have chosen you; and the LORD will not hear you in that day. Nevertheless the people refused to obey the voice of Samuel; and they said, Nay; but we will have a king over us; That we also may be like all the nations; and that our king may judge us, and go out before us, and fight our battles" (1 Samuel 8:11-20).

With The LORD God as their King reigning over the the children of Israel, He fought against their enemy's with them, HE by HIS Word provided for their needs, He sought for the best for them, and spoke to them by the way they were open to hear HIS Voice through prophets. But because their hearts were so far removed from being in close connection with GOD by HIS Word, they sought to have a king like the other nations to reign over them. Even though GOD spoke to Samuel to give the people what the wanted, HE, had in Mind a king, who would follow after HIS OWN Heart--The Word. If king David followed after GOD'S Word, Who drew him to GOD, by following HIS Word, then all the kings that drew back one step at a time away from HIS Word, they were leading His people to separate from GOD, by rejecting HIS Word. The enemy of the souls of men are feeding men more and more of the things of this world, to keep the hearts and minds of men from hearing and receiving The Voice of GOD, WHO is calling unto them to come unto Him and be saved. But many are unable to hear with the noise of the world filling their ears. Like the prophets of old, who spoke GOD'S Word to those, who did not want to hear The Voice of GOD speaking them; the church as a light to this world is to reveal GOD'S Glory by HIS Word to all, who would be save. But like the children of Israel, who was brought out of bondage to walk with GOD in following HIS Word, many have been led by the enemy to step back from following completely HIS Word. They look for the enticing words of man's wisdom to teach them what they believe is Truth, rather then receiving and following The Word of GOD, Who is The Truth.

The idols that are drawing the souls of men away from The Light and Life of GOD'S Word, are designed by the enemy of souls to keep the hearts of men from turning to and hearing The Voice of GOD through HIS Word. This has led men to create gods of their own making in their own imagination. It was said of those with Paul, saying, "...we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high [places]" (Ephesians 6:12). It is for this reason that it is said, "...the weapons of our warfare [are] not carnal, but mighty through God to the pulling down of strong holds;) Casting down imaginations, and every high thing that exalteth itself against the knowledge of God, and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ" (2 Corinthians 10:4,5).

To overcome this strong holds of the enemy of our souls, who seek to keep the minds of men in darkness under his reign, that men might serve him like the children of Israel in bondage with no apparent hope; we do have hope in The Savior, Who is The Light and Life of our souls. All who will follow GODíS Word from the darkness of the enemy of our souls, to His marvelous Light; they will receive His Gift of Life. But we need to follow Him to overcome the darkness of the enemy. Many are looking for that cloud that will bring forth rain--The Latter Rain of The Holy Spirit. But The Latter Rain cannot come to those, who have rejected The Early Rain. Therefore they cannot bring forth His Fruit to the harvest. Jesus sent His disciples into the world, to shine The Light of HIS Word into the hearts of men, who were in darkness. And if men are still in darkness to The Truth of GOD'S Word to their souls, and they seek for revival, then they must search their hearts to see if they are following GOD according to HIS Word.

For Jesus said to His disciples, "He that heareth you heareth me; and he that despiseth you despiseth me; and he that despiseth me despiseth him that sent me. And the seventy returned again with joy, saying, Lord, even the devils are subject unto us through thy name" (Luke 10:16-17). Notice that the disciples had great sucess in The Power of GOD'S Word working HIS Will in and through them. And they are to us the ministry of the early rain, which works upon our hearts to prepare us to receive Him, Who comes from The Father with All Power to do HIS Will. If men despise His Words to them through those, who are sent in His Name, then they cannot receive The Power of The Latter Rain, Which is given of GOD through The Word sent in HIS NAME.

This understanding of The early and Latter Rain is an important Message to be given to the Vineyard of The LORD, which is the world. For time and time again, the fellowship of believers have called upon The Name of The LORD, to receive The Power of The Latter Rain, to overcome their enemy and to accomplish the will of The LORD. But many have not received The Early Rain to prepare their hearts to receive The Latter Rain. For The LORD sent messenger after messenger to prepare the hearts of men to receive The Early Rain, before the coming of The Latter Rain, but these messengers of God were disfellowship from being among them. Yet, The Grace and Mercy of GOD sought for open hearts, willing to receive the call to be messengers of HIS Word. For GOD has Testified of HIS Word through His servant Moses and said, "Give ear, O ye heavens, and I will speak; and hear, O earth, the words of my mouth. My doctrine shall drop as the rain, my speech shall distil as the dew, as the small rain upon the tender herb, and as the showers upon the grass: Because I will publish the name of the LORD: ascribe ye greatness unto our God. [He is] the Rock, his work [is] perfect: for all his ways [are] judgment: a God of truth and without iniquity, just and right [is] he. They have corrupted themselves, their spot [is] not [the spot] of his children: [they are] a perverse and crooked generation" (Deuteronomy 32:1-5).

By rearing up spiritual idols in the minds of the members of the church, to walk step by step away from GOD by not following HIS Word, many have been led by the enemy to reject The messengers that God has sent to prepare their hearts to receive The Latter Rain after The Early Rain. For The Power that worked in and through the disciple in times pass, is still able to do The Will of GOD in and through those, who believe and follow GOD by HIS Word today. For Jesus said, "he that despiseth you despiseth me; and he that despiseth me despiseth him that sent me" (Luke 10:16). He also said, "He that receiveth you receiveth me, and he that receiveth me receiveth him that sent me. He that receiveth a prophet in the name of a prophet shall receive a prophet's reward; and he that receiveth a righteous man in the name of a righteous man shall receive a righteous man's reward. And whosoever shall give to drink unto one of these little ones a cup of cold [water] only in the name of a disciple, verily I say unto you, he shall in no wise lose his reward" (Matthew 10:40).

Jesus testified of The Father, WHO sent Him and said, "I have manifested thy name unto the men which thou gavest me out of the world: thine they were, and thou gavest them me; and they have kept thy word. Now they have known that all things whatsoever thou hast given me are of thee. For I have given unto them the words which thou gavest me; and they have received [them], and have known surely that I came out from thee, and they have believed that thou didst send me." (John 17:6-8, 20). "Neither pray I for these alone, but for them also which shall believe on me through their word; That they all may be one; as thou, Father, [art] in me, and I in thee, that they also may be one in us: that the world may believe that thou hast sent me" (John 17:20).

As messengers sharing with us GOD'S Word to our hearts, John said, "That which we have seen and heard declare we unto you, that ye also may have fellowship with us: and truly our fellowship [is] with the Father, and with his Son Jesus Christ. And these things write we unto you, that your joy may be full" (1John 1:3, 4). We are to be perfectly joined together in Oneness with GOD. For it is written of The Word, Who said, "Be ye therefore perfect, even as your Father which is in heaven is perfect" (Matthew 5:48). And to make it clear to us, Jesus said, "I am the true vine, and my Father is the husbandman. Every branch in me that beareth not fruit he taketh away: and every [branch] that beareth fruit, he purgeth it, that it may bring forth more fruit. Now ye are clean through the word which I have spoken unto you. Abide in me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself, except it abide in the vine; no more can ye, except ye abide in me. I am the vine, ye [are] the branches: He that abideth in me, and I in him, the same bringeth forth much fruit: for without me ye can do nothing" (John 15 1-5).

There are two way that we can choose to walk in this world, (1). The first way is of the flesh in walking away from Christ, to walk step by step into darkness away from the Gift of Life. (2). The other is walking by The Spirit of Life. For it was said through Paul, saying, "[There is] therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit. For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus hath made me free from the law of sin and death. For what the law could not do, in that it was weak through the flesh, God sending his own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh, and for sin, condemned sin in the flesh: That the righteousness of the law might be fulfilled in us, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit" (Romans 8:1-4).

When Ahab came to Elijah, he raised a question to him, saying, "...[Art] thou he that troubleth Israel?" (1 Kings 18:17). Elijah responded to him, and said, "I have not troubled Israel; but thou, and thy father's house, in that ye have forsaken the commandments of the LORD, and thou hast followed Baalim" (1 Kings 18:16-18). The path that Ahab was on did not start with his generation, but he did more in forsaking the Commandments of GOD, to follow and worship Baalim.

Ahab and his father's house was following a path that was leading his people into darkness away from GOD and HIS Word for many generations in the pass. But Elijah sought to change the directions of the children if Israel, to walk according to the Covenant of GOD'S Law, which would point them back to GOD as their GOD, and they as HIS people. For as the cildren of GOD, The LORD said by HIS Word, saying, ""My son, forget not my law; but let thine heart keep my commandments: For length of days, and long life, and peace, shall they add to thee. Let not mercy and truth forsake thee: bind them about thy neck; write them upon the table of thine heart: So shalt thou find favour and good understanding in the sight of God and man. Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths. Be not wise in thine own eyes: fear the LORD, and depart from evil. (Proverbs 3:1-7).

In testifying of Christ to the churh at Ephesus, Paul spoke of Christ in Whom we believe to be The Head of His house, which we are in the vineyard of the whole world. Paul said, "He that descended is the same also that ascended up far above all heavens, that he might fill all things.) And he gave some, apostles; and some, prophets; and some, evangelists; and some, pastors and teachers; For the perfecting of the saints, for the work of the ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ: Till we all come in the unity of the faith, and of the knowledge of the Son of God, unto a perfect man, unto the measure of the stature of the fulness of Christ: That we [henceforth] be no more children, tossed to and fro, and carried about with every wind of doctrine, by the sleight of men, [and] cunning craftiness, whereby they lie in wait to deceive; But speaking the truth in love, may grow up into him in all things, which is the head, [even] Christ: From whom the whole body fitly joined together and compacted by that which every joint supplieth, according to the effectual working in the measure of every part, maketh increase of the body unto the edifying of itself in love" (Ephesians 4:10-16).

By sacrificing His Life to save the whole world, we can serve Christ by lifting Him up in our lives and giving Him all the Glory and praise in pointing the hearts of men, who have turned out of The Way, to receive Him in their hearts, to walk in fellowship and oneness with Him, and praise Him for all that He has done to save us from eternal death, but to have Eternal Life in Him.
