Is there a difference between the phrase, “In the side of The Ark”, and the phrase “In The Ark?” Why did GOD command Moses by HIS Word, to place The Book of The Law in the side of the Ark, and to place The Testimony, or The Covenant in The Ark of The Covenant? Why were these laws not placed together, as one Law, as some have claimed them to be?

The Book of The Law is called The Law of Moses, or The Mosaic Law. Notice that on the day of the third month after the children of Israel departed out of the land of Egypt, they came to mount Sinai. And it was on the third day of the third month that the LORD spoke HIS Commandments unto Israel.

Notice also that, “…it came to pass in the fortieth year, in the eleventh month, on the first [day] of the month, [that] Moses spake unto the children of Israel, according unto all that the LORD had given him in commandment unto them” (Deuteronomy 1:3). This Book of the Law recounts all that took place.

It is written in this book of Deuteronomy that, “…it came to pass, when Moses had made an end of writing the words of this law in a book, until they were finished, That Moses commanded the Levites, which bare the ark of the covenant of the LORD, saying, Take this book of the law, and put it in the side of the ark of the covenant of the LORD your God, that it may be there for a witness against thee. For I know thy rebellion, and thy stiff neck: behold, while I am yet alive with you this day, ye have been rebellious against the LORD; and how much more after my death?” (Deuteronomy 31:24-27)

To know The Truth of why the book of the Law was written, which was also called a covenant, read Deuteronomy 29:1- 29 especially verse 25, which is what many are doing today. In the book of the law, Moses wrote a copy of The Law of GOD, which was given on Mount Sinai on the third day of the third month. That was forty years and eight months before the writing of the book of Deuteronomy. That is also the reason that Moses wrote and said, “…he added no more” (Deuteronomy 5:22).

The Tables of Stone are called The Covenant, or The Testimony, or The Law of GOD. It reveals The True Corner Stone of our faith, Who is The Covenant Word of GOD.

The LORD said, “And thou shalt put the mercy seat above upon the ark; and in the ark thou shalt put the testimony that I shall give thee” (Exodus 25:21).

The LORD said, “And thou shalt put therein the ark of the testimony, and cover the ark with the vail” (Exodus 40:3).

The LORD said, “And I will write on the tables the words that were in the first tables which thou brakest, and thou shalt put them in the ark. And I made an ark [of] shittim wood, and hewed two tables of stone like unto the first, and went up into the mount, having the two tables in mine hand. And he wrote on the tables, according to the first writing, the ten commandments, which the LORD spake unto you in the mount out of the midst of the fire in the day of the assembly: and the LORD gave them unto me. And I turned myself and came down from the mount, and put the tables in the ark which I had made; and there they be, as the LORD commanded me” (Deuteronomy 10:2-5).

Notice that GOD’S Law is not against us, and HIS Law is The Ten Commandments.

“The law of the LORD [is] perfect, converting the soul: the testimony of the LORD [is] sure, making wise the simple. The statutes of the LORD [are] right, rejoicing the heart: the commandment of the LORD [is] pure, enlightening the eyes” (Psalms 19:7, 8).

“Quicken me after thy lovingkindness; so shall I keep the testimony of thy mouth” (Psalms 119:88).

“Bind up the testimony, seal the law among my disciples” (Isaiah 8:16).

“To the law and to the testimony: if they speak not according to this word, [it is] because [there is] no light in them” (Isaiah 8:20).

“He that hath received his testimony hath set to his seal that God is true. For he whom God hath sent speaketh the words of God: for God giveth not the Spirit by measure [unto him]” (John 3:33, 34).

“It is also written in your law, that the testimony of two men is true. I am one that bear witness of myself, and the Father that sent me beareth witness of me” (John 8:17, 18).

“And the dragon was wroth with the woman, and went to make war with the remnant of her seed, which keep the commandments of God, and have the testimony of Jesus Christ” (Revelation 12:17).

Now notice this verse that deals with the same subjects that we deal with here on this site.

Speaking of Christ--The Holy One of GOD to the men of Israel, Paul said, “Be it known unto you therefore, men [and] brethren, that through this man is preached unto you the forgiveness of sins: And by him all that believe are justified from all things, from which ye could not be justified by the law of Moses. Beware therefore, lest that come upon you, which is spoken of in the prophets; Behold, ye despisers, and wonder, and perish: for I work a work in your days, a work which ye shall in no wise believe, though a man declare it unto you. And when the Jews were gone out of the synagogue, the Gentiles besought that these words might be preached to them the next Sabbath” (Acts 13:38-42).

Notice the difference between Paul’s preaching of The Word of GOD and The Law of Moses.

Paul said of Christ, “…through this man is preached unto you the forgiveness of sins: And by him all that believe are justified from all things….” Paul said that we are justified from all things, “…from which ye could not be justified by the law of Moses.”

This passage above should be clear that the passages that have been presented here, to say that The Law of GOD, or The Testimony, or The Covenant of GOD has been abolish, that view is a work of deception. And these verses prove that there is a difference between The Law of GOD and The Law of Moses, which has been abolished and nailed to the cross of Christ.

Also notice that when the Jews heard of the preaching of The Word of GOD through Paul, Luke wrote and said, “…when the Jews were gone out of the synagogue, the Gentiles besought that these words might be preached to them” NOT on the next day, which would be the first day of the week Sunday, but they wanted the same words preached to them on “the next Sabbath”, which was a whole week from that same day that the Jews worshiped on.

Repent and believe The Truth of The Testimony, as it is revealed in The Scriptures, “For the commandment [is] a lamp; and the law [is] light; and reproofs of instruction [are] the way of life” (Proverbs 6:23). The Commandments are not a shadow.
