Point Number-4

Speaking about GOD, Paul said, “God, who at sundry times and in divers manners spake in time past unto the fathers by the prophets, Hath in these last days spoken unto us by [his] Son, whom he hath appointed heir of all things, by whom also he made the worlds; Who being the brightness of [his] glory, and the express image of his person, and upholding all things by the word of his power…” (Hebrews 1:1-3).

The Son of GOD, Who is of GOD, He is The Brightness of HIS Glory, and The Express Image of HIS PERSON. GOD did not speak to HIS Son indirectly, but directly through Him, HE speaks to us in these last days, and by HIS Son, HE also made the worlds.

Notice that GOD is not speaking to us directly in these last days. Neither did HE speak to the fathers of the children of Israel directly, but by the prophets. The question could be raised to say: If GOD spoke to the fathers by the prophets, then did HE speak to the prophets directly?

The answer would be “No”. The Scriptures use the phrase “The Word of The LORD” 242 times in 239 verses in The Old Testament from Genesis 15:1 to Malachi 1:1. Of the 239 verses, The Scriptures use the phrase “The Word of The LORD came” 92 times. And of the 92 verses, The Scriptures use the phrase “The Word of The LORD came unto me, saying” 42 times.

If The Word of The LORD came unto the prophets and revealed to them The Will of HIM, WHO sent HIS Word, then The Word of GOD is coming from The LORD, WHO is not seen, or heard by the prophets, but by HIS Word, Whom HE has sent HE is heard through Him--The Word of GOD, Who is sent. And if He is sent from The LORD, to convey The Will of The LORD, then He is a Messenger of The LORD.

GOD has given to man the gift of communicating to one another by the use of the voice, or the written word, which conveys the sound wave that presents the thoughts from one person’s mind to another. These same sound waves are presented as word symbols, which can be read, and recalled to the mind, to receive the thoughts that have ceased to be heard long after the initial voicing of the thoughts have been spoken into words. GOD has also given to men the gift to store the thoughts in the mind, to recall from memory the words that were once spoken and heard.

The Gift of hearing and representing the thoughts that have been written, long after the initial voicing of the thoughts have been heard, comes from GOD by way of HIS Word, Whom HE has sent, to convey to us HIS Thoughts, long after HIS Thoughts have been voiced, and made known to us by HIS Word Whom HE has sent.

Notice the conversation that was heard and was conveyed to the prophet Jeremiah long after the conversation was initially presented. As you read to your mind these words written by Jeremiah, of what he heard long after the initial words were spoken, take note of how long ago the words he heard was spoken, and to Whom these Words were spoken. What Jeremiah heard is The Thoughts of The LORD, WHO was speaking to HIS Son--Jeremiah’s Lord.

Jeremiah testified of The Word, Who was with GOD in the beginning. And he said, “The words of Jeremiah the son of Hilkiah, of the priests that [were] in Anathoth in the land of Benjamin: To whom the word of the LORD came in the days of Josiah the son of Amon king of Judah, in the thirteenth year of his reign. It came also in the days of Jehoiakim the son of Josiah king of Judah, unto the end of the eleventh year of Zedekiah the son of Josiah king of Judah, unto the carrying away of Jerusalem captive in the fifth month. Then the word of the LORD came unto me, saying, Before I formed thee in the belly I knew thee; and before thou camest forth out of the womb I sanctified thee, [and] I ordained thee a prophet unto the nations” (Jeremiah 1:1-5).

Notice that Jeremiah testified that The Word of The LORD came, not just in his day, but in the days of Josiah the son of Amon king of Judah. And The Word of The LORD came also in the days of Jehoiakim the son of Josiah king of Judah. Notice that Jeremiah testified that “Then the word of the LORD came unto me, saying”. And Jeremiah testified of what he heard of The Word, Who came from The LORD, WHO sent HIS Word.

Why is this important to notice what was said by The Word from GOD? As it was stated above, “As you read to your mind these words written by Jeremiah, of what he heard long after the initial words were spoken, take note of how long ago the words he heard was spoken, and to Whom these Words were spoken.” The disciple John also reveals to us why we should take note of The Word, Who was sent from GOD. John said of The Word of The LORD, “He that cometh from above is above all: he that is of the earth is earthly, and speaketh of the earth: he that cometh from heaven is above all. And what he hath seen and heard, that he testifieth; and no man receiveth his testimony. He that hath received his testimony hath set to his seal that God is true. For he whom God hath sent speaketh the words of God: for God giveth not the Spirit by measure [unto him]. The Father loveth the Son, and hath given all things into his hand” (John 3:31-35).

Notice the confirmation from John’s testimony of The Word, that The LORD GOD gives not HIS SPIRIT by measure unto HIS Son, because HIS Son--The Word, Who comes from above, He speaks The Words of GOD. And by these Words from GOD, He shares with man His Testimony, which many have not yet received. Yet, those that have received His Testimony, they have set to their seal that GOD is TRUE. And Paul also testified of The Word and said, “Let this mind be in you, which was also in Christ Jesus” (Philippians 2:5). For, “…the natural man receiveth not the things of the Spirit of God: for they are foolishness unto him: neither can he know [them], because they are spiritually discerned. But he that is spiritual judgeth all things, yet he himself is judged of no man. For who hath known the mind of the Lord, that he may instruct him? But we have the mind of Christ” (1 Corinthians 2:14-16).

Now, why did The Word of GOD come to the prophets and shared with them His Testimony at sundry times and in divers manners, to speak in time past unto the fathers by the prophets? Peter, speaking of these prophets, he said that they were, “Searching what, or what manner of time the Spirit of Christ which was in them did signify, when it testified beforehand the sufferings of Christ, and the glory that should follow. Unto whom it was revealed, that not unto themselves, but unto us they did minister the things, which are now reported unto you by them that have preached the gospel unto you with the Holy Ghost sent down from heaven; which things the angels desire to look into. Wherefore gird up the loins of your mind, be sober, and hope to the end for the grace that is to be brought unto you at the revelation of Jesus Christ” (1 Peter 1:11-13).

As The Word of The LORD came, not just in Jeremiah’s day, but in other times, to reveal the revelation of Jesus Christ, Whom GOD had revealed to men through The Word of GOD-- Himself, so likewise, when Jeremiah heard The Word of The LORD being spoken unto him, GOD--The LORD was not speaking only of Jeremiah, to whom The Word came. The LORD was speaking to HIS Son, and through HIS Son, HE was revealing HIS Son before Hand, Who would later come to dwell among men in the likeness of men. This means that in order for The Son of GOD to know His identity before He became human, He poured out His Own mind into His prophets, and through the writings of the prophets, He as a human would recall later to His Own mind The Thoughts that The Father HIMSELF spoke and revealed to Him and through Him unto Himself, Who would be born again of man. Notice the content of the conversation that is revealed to the prophet Jeremiah.

Jeremiah testified of The Word, Who said, “Then said I, Ah, Lord GOD! behold, I cannot speak: for I [am] a child. But the LORD said unto me, Say not, I [am] a child: for thou shalt go to all that I shall send thee, and whatsoever I command thee thou shalt speak. Be not afraid of their faces: for I [am] with thee to deliver thee, saith the LORD. Then the LORD put forth his hand, and touched my mouth. And the LORD said unto me, Behold, I have put my words in thy mouth. See, I have this day set thee over the nations and over the kingdoms, to root out, and to pull down, and to destroy, and to throw down, to build, and to plant” (Jeremiah 1:6-10).

As Jeremiah noted that The Word of GOD came at other times, Isaiah also testified of The Word of GOD, Who came unto him, and revealed The Words spoken by GOD to Him before GOD through HIS Word created all things. GOD said to HIS Son, “…I have put my words in thy mouth, and I have covered thee in the shadow of mine hand, that I may plant the heavens, and lay the foundations of the earth, and say unto Zion, Thou [art] my people” (Isaiah 51:16).

It was noted to take note of how long ago the words Jeremiah heard was spoken, and to Whom these Words were spoken. GOD needed a way to communicate with HIS Son, and through HIS Son--The Word of GOD, HE says unto Zion, “Thou [art] my people”. This confirms John's testimony of The Word, Who speaks GOD'S Thoughts to men. He--The Word of GOD existed long before GOD created anything through Him.
