“And many people shall go and say, Come ye, and let us go up to the mountain of the Lord, to the house of the God of Jacob; and he will teach us of his ways, and we will walk in his paths: for out of Zion shall go forth the law, and the word of the Lord from Jerusalem"

(Isaiah 2:3).

It has been suggested that The Law of GOD has been given only to the children of Israel, and that the Christians, who are to be the followers of Christ, they are not under obligation to abide by The Law, Which He gave unto Moses, to give unto the children of Israel. But this suggestion is saying something that is not taught within the pages of Scripture. This suggestion is given, because those, who do not understand the gospel of GOD, they are rejecting HIS Grace in the giving of HIS Son.

Let us look at the heart of the gospel to understand what this suggestion is saying. It is recorded by John--a disciple of Christ, who wrote of Him, and said, “…That whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have eternal life. For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life” (John 3:15, 16).

This passage of Scripture in a nutshell is the heart of the gospel. And if we are to understand this gospel, we need to receive it in our hearts, to benefit from the message that it reveals to all, who will receive it. To do this, we need to look carefully at what is being revealed in these words.

John wrote about Christ, and said to the world in these words that, whosoever believes in Christ should not perish, but have Eternal Life. John wrote and said that GOD so loved the world, that HE gave HIS only begotten Son, that whosoever believes in Him should not perish, but have Everlasting Life. Now, let us look it this message carefully. We have a world, which needs to hear and believe on Christ, Whom GOD has given to the world. If they do not hear and believe on Christ, Whom GOD has given to the world, then they will perish.

Some could say that GOD did not give Christ to the world, because HE gave Him only to the disciples. The world could say, We are under no obligation to believe on Christ, because He was given only to the disciples. This is the claim that many are proclaiming in their rejection of GOD’S Grace, which is given to them through those, who received HIS Covenant Word of Life.

If you, as a parent have twelve children, and you gave a vessel of blessing to one of your children, with the intention that this one child would share the vessel of blessing with the rest of your children, what would your response be, if that one child did not share the vessel of blessing to the rest of your children? Or what would your response be, if the rest of the children did not receive the blessing, because they thought that you, as the parent give the vessel of blessing to only one child? This is the claim that many are proclaiming, to reject The Promise Blessing of GOD in HIS Word.

When GOD gave HIS Covenant Word to Moses, to give HIS Covenant Word to the children of Israel, Moses shared The Promise Blessing with them. For Moses was His mediator between God and men. For GOD said to Israel by HIS Covenant Word through Moses, saying, “Now therefore, if ye will obey my voice indeed, and keep my covenant, then ye shall be a peculiar treasure unto me above all people: for all the earth [is] mine: And ye shall be unto me a kingdom of priests, and an holy nation. These [are] the words which thou shalt speak unto the children of Israel. And Moses came and called for the elders of the people, and laid before their faces all these words which the LORD commanded him. And all the people answered together, and said, All that the LORD hath spoken we will do. And Moses returned the words of the people unto the LORD” (Exodus 19:5-8).

The children of Israel agreed to do all that The Word of The LORD had commanded of them, to obey HIS Voice, Who spoke through Moses, and to keep HIS Covenant Word, to be a peculiar treasure unto HIM above all people. For all the earth belongs to GOD. And they were to be unto HIM a kingdom of priests, and a holy nation. Moses said to them, “The LORD did not set his love upon you, nor choose you, because ye were more in number than any people; for ye [were] the fewest of all people: But because the LORD loved you, and because he would keep the oath which he had sworn unto your fathers, hath the LORD brought you out with a mighty hand, and redeemed you out of the house of bondmen, from the hand of Pharaoh king of Egypt.

“Know therefore that the LORD thy God, he [is] God, the faithful God, which keepeth covenant and mercy with them that love him and keep his commandments to a thousand generations; And repayeth them that hate him to their face, to destroy them: he will not be slack to him that hateth him, he will repay him to his face. Thou shalt therefore keep the commandments, and the statutes, and the judgments, which I command thee this day, to do them. Wherefore it shall come to pass, if ye hearken to these judgments, and keep, and do them, that the LORD thy God shall keep unto thee the covenant and the mercy which he sware unto thy fathers: And he will love thee, and bless thee, and multiply thee: he will also bless the fruit of thy womb, and the fruit of thy land, thy corn, and thy wine, and thine oil, the increase of thy kine, and the flocks of thy sheep, in the land which he sware unto thy fathers to give thee. Thou shalt be blessed above all people: there shall not be male or female barren among you, or among your cattle. And the LORD will take away from thee all sickness, and will put none of the evil diseases of Egypt, which thou knowest, upon thee; but will lay them upon all [them] that hate thee” (Deuteronomy 7:7-15).

Through Moses, The LORD by HIS Covenant Word said that HE chose the children of Israel, not because they were more in number, but because HE loved them and would keep the oath, which HE had sworn unto their fathers. For HE by HIS Covenant Word said to Abraham, “…when Abram was ninety years old and nine, the LORD appeared to Abram, and said unto him, I [am] the Almighty God; walk before me, and be thou perfect. And I will make my covenant between me and thee, and will multiply thee exceedingly. And Abram fell on his face: and God talked with him, saying, As for me, behold, my covenant [is] with thee, and thou shalt be a father of many nations. Neither shall thy name any more be called Abram, but thy name shall be Abraham; for a father of many nations have I made thee. And I will make thee exceeding fruitful, and I will make nations of thee, and kings shall come out of thee. “And I will establish my covenant between me and thee and thy seed after thee in their generations for an everlasting covenant, to be a God unto thee, and to thy seed after thee. And I will give unto thee, and to thy seed after thee, the land wherein thou art a stranger, all the land of Canaan, for an everlasting possession; and I will be their God. And God said unto Abraham, Thou shalt keep my covenant therefore, thou, and thy seed after thee in their generations. This [is] my covenant, which ye shall keep, between me and you and thy seed after thee” (Genesis 17:1-9).

Notice that when GOD spoke by HIS Covenant Word to Abraham, HE revealed to him what his part in keeping The Covenant Word would be, and what GOD’S part would be in keeping HIS Covenant with him. The LORD said, “I am the Almighty God; walk before me, and be thou perfect.” “I will make my covenant between me and thee, and will multiply thee exceedingly”. The LORD said to Abraham, “my covenant [is] with thee”, “thou shalt be a father of many nations.” Notice that Abraham would be a father, not of the Jewish nation only, but of many nations, and many kings. For The LORD said by HIS Word to Abraham, saying, “Thy name shall be Abraham; for a father of many nations have I made thee.” “I will make thee exceeding fruitful.” “I will make nations of thee, and kings shall come out of thee.” “I will establish my covenant between me and thee and thy seed after thee in their generations for an everlasting covenant, to be a God unto thee, and to thy seed after thee.” “I will give unto thee, and to thy seed after thee, the land wherein thou art a stranger, all the land of Canaan, for an everlasting possession.” “I will be their God.” “Thou shalt keep my covenant therefore, thou, and thy seed after thee in their generations.” “This [is] my covenant, which ye shall keep, between me and you and thy seed after thee.” Notice how many times GOD said by HIS Word that HE will, and how many times HE said to Abraham “you shall”.

Notice that GOD has made a Promise by HIS Covenant Word to Abraham, to be a GOD unto him and to his seed after him. And Abraham is called to walk before GOD and be perfect, to keep HIS Covenant with him, that he, and his seed after him in their generations would receive an everlasting covenant of an everlasting possession of the land of Promise.

There is no other covenant between GOD and man from any other nation. All nations of the earth were to be blessed through GOD’S blessing through the seed of Abraham. For HE said unto him, “…I will make of thee a great nation, and I will bless thee, and make thy name great; and thou shalt be a blessing: And I will bless them that bless thee, and curse him that curseth thee: and in thee shall all families of the earth be blessed” (Genesis 12:2, 3).

As a seed of Abraham, John wrote of those, who will receive The Blessing of Christ and said, “He that believeth on the Son hath everlasting life: and he that believeth not the Son shall not see life; but the wrath of God abideth on him” (John 3:36). “For as the Father hath life in himself; so hath he given to the Son to have life in himself” (John 5:26). “He that hath the Son hath life; [and] he that hath not the Son of God hath not life” (1John 5:12).

In sharing Christ with us, John wrote of Him, and testified of The Words Christ shared only with them. Jesus said to them, “Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that believeth on me, the works that I do shall he do also; and greater [works] than these shall he do; because I go unto my Father. And whatsoever ye shall ask in my name, that will I do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son. If ye shall ask any thing in my name, I will do [it]. If ye love me, keep my commandments. And I will pray the Father, and he shall give you another Comforter, that he may abide with you for ever; [Even] the Spirit of truth; whom the world cannot receive, because it seeth him not, neither knoweth him: but ye know him; for he dwelleth with you, and shall be in you. I will not leave you comfortless: I will come to you. Yet a little while, and the world seeth me no more; but ye see me: because I live, ye shall live also. At that day ye shall know that I [am] in my Father, and ye in me, and I in you” (John 14:12-20).

Notice that John did not fail to share The Son of GOD with us. The Son of GOD was not given only to the twelve disciples. And neither was He given only to the children of Israel. But as the adversary led one of Christ disciples, to trade The Covenant of Life for thirty pieces of silver, and the nation of Israel to reject Him, as their King, and say, “…We have no king but Caesar” (John 19:15), they did these things, because they did not believe on Him. As Isaiah said, “Who hath believed our report? and to whom is the arm of the LORD revealed?” (Isaiah 53:1)

Although GOD provided to the world the Ark of safety, which saved only eight souls alive from the flood, which destroyed the whole world, and those, who accepted not The Truth, of Covenant Word of Life, Noah, preached to all by his actions in believing GOD, to make provisions saved all, who would GOD’S Covenant Word of Life. The coming destruction of this world will be by fire. But GOD has made provisions by HIS Word to save all, who will believe in Him, by accepting HIS Covenant Word of Life, Whom HE has sent. For it is written through Isaiah, who said, “…it shall come to pass in the last days, [that] the mountain of the LORD'S house shall be established in the top of the mountains, and shall be exalted above the hills; and all nations shall flow unto it. And many people shall go and say, Come ye, and let us go up to the mountain of the LORD, to the house of the God of Jacob; and he will teach us of his ways, and we will walk in his paths: for out of Zion shall go forth the law, and the word of the LORD from Jerusalem. And he shall judge among the nations, and shall rebuke many people: and they shall beat their swords into plowshares, and their spears into pruninghooks: nation shall not lift up sword against nation, neither shall they learn war any more. O house of Jacob, come ye, and let us walk in the light of the LORD” (Isaiah 2:2-5).

What is this Mountain into which all nation shall flow unto it? The prophet Daniel was given a vision of this Mountain, and he wrote and said, “Then was the iron, the clay, the brass, the silver, and the gold, broken to pieces together, and became like the chaff of the summer threshingfloors; and the wind carried them away, that no place was found for them: and the stone that smote the image became a great mountain, and filled the whole earth” (Daniel 2:35).

Daniel also gave the interpretation of the vision and said, “…whereas thou sawest iron mixed with miry clay, they shall mingle themselves with the seed of men: but they shall not cleave one to another, even as iron is not mixed with clay. And in the days of these kings shall the God of heaven set up a kingdom, which shall never be destroyed: and the kingdom shall not be left to other people, [but] it shall break in pieces and consume all these kingdoms, and it shall stand for ever. Forasmuch as thou sawest that the stone was cut out of the mountain without hands, and that it brake in pieces the iron, the brass, the clay, the silver, and the gold; the great God hath made known to the king what shall come to pass hereafter: and the dream [is] certain, and the interpretation thereof sure” (Daniel 2:43-45).

Notice that The Kingdom of GOD shall break in pieces and consume all the kingdoms of men and shall stand forever. The Stone that was cut out of The Mountain without hands, is The Covenant Stone of GOD’S Word, Who revealed The Truth to the Jews, who failed to believe on Him. “Jesus saith unto them, Did ye never read in the scriptures, The stone which the builders rejected, the same is become the head of the corner: this is the Lord's doing, and it is marvellous in our eyes? Therefore say I unto you, The kingdom of God shall be taken from you, and given to a nation bringing forth the fruits thereof. And whosoever shall fall on this stone shall be broken: but on whomsoever it shall fall, it will grind him to powder” (Matthew 21:42-44).

The Corner Stone of The Kingdom of GOD is The Author and Finisher of our faith. It is upon Him that we must build our faith upon. Peter said, “If so be ye have tasted that the Lord [is] gracious. To whom coming, [as unto] a living stone, disallowed indeed of men, but chosen of God, [and] precious, Ye also, as lively stones, are built up a spiritual house, an holy priesthood, to offer up spiritual sacrifices, acceptable to God by Jesus Christ. Wherefore also it is contained in the scripture, Behold, I lay in Sion a chief corner stone, elect, precious: and he that believeth on him shall not be confounded. Unto you therefore which believe [he is] precious: but unto them which be disobedient, the stone which the builders disallowed, the same is made the head of the corner, And a stone of stumbling, and a rock of offence, [even to them] which stumble at the word, being disobedient: whereunto also they were appointed. But ye [are] a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, an holy nation, a peculiar people; that ye should shew forth the praises of him who hath called you out of darkness into his marvellous light: Which in time past [were] not a people, but [are] now the people of God: which had not obtained mercy, but now have obtained mercy” (1 Peter 2:3-10). Christ Jesus is The Same Rock of His church. He is The Everlasting Covenant between GOD and all, who will receive Him, for it was He--The Word of GOD, Who was that Rock that followed the children of Israel in wilderness.

Ellen G. White wrote and said of Him, saying, “The Old Testament Scriptures were the lesson book of Israel. When the lawyer came to Christ with the question "Master, what shall I do to inherit eternal life?" . . . the Saviour said, "What is written in the law? how readest thou? And he answering said, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy strength, and with all thy mind; and thy neighbor as thyself." Christ said, "Thou hast answered right: this do, and thou shalt live" (Luke 10:25-28). . . .

“If there were not another text in the Bible, this statement carries sufficient light and knowledge and assurance for every soul. The lawyer had answered his own question, but willing to justify himself, he said to Jesus, "Who is my neighbor?" (verse 29). Then by the parable of the Good Samaritan, Christ showed who is our neighbor, and gives us an example of the love we should manifest toward those suffering and in need. The priest and Levite, whose duty it was to minister to the needs of the stranger, passed by on the other side.

“At the conclusion of the narrative Christ asked the lawyer, "Which now of these three, thinkest thou, was neighbor unto him that fell among the thieves? And he said, He that shewed mercy on him. Then said Jesus unto him, Go, and do thou likewise" (verses 36, 37).

“There are practical lessons in the Word of God. . . . That Word teaches living, holy principles, which prompt men to do unto others as they would have others do unto them, principles which they are to bring into the daily life here, and carry with them into the school above. . . . The altar and the plough are the experiences for all who seek eternal life. We know altogether too little of the greatness of the love and compassion of God. Let students put to the stretch the faculties of their mind, that they may comprehend such chapters as the forty-fifth of Isaiah, which should be placed in form, and brought into our schools as valuable studies. They will be better than romance or fable. Why have our schools been so dependent upon books which tell so little of the city we claim to be seeking, whose Builder and Maker is God? . . . Heaven is our home. Our citizenship is above, and our lives must not be devoted to a world which is soon to be destroyed. We need the Word of God revealed in living characters. What pure, excellent language is found in the Word of God! What elevating, ennobling principles!--Manuscript 96. July 20, 1899, "The Bible as Our Study Book." (The Upward Look, Page 215)

In The Counsel of GOD’S Covenant Word to us through His servant David, He said, “Blessed [is] the man that walketh not in the counsel of the ungodly, nor standeth in the way of sinners, nor sitteth in the seat of the scornful. But his delight [is] in the law of the LORD; and in his law doth he meditate day and night. And he shall be like a tree planted by the rivers of water, that bringeth forth his fruit in his season; his leaf also shall not wither; and whatsoever he doeth shall prosper. The ungodly [are] not so: but [are] like the chaff which the wind driveth away. Therefore the ungodly shall not stand in the judgment, nor sinners in the congregation of the righteous. For the LORD knoweth the way of the righteous: but the way of the ungodly shall perish” (Psalms 1:1-6). Notice that it is only the sinner, who delights not in the law of the LORD, to meditate not upon HIS Law day and night. For without Him--The Word of Life, we can do no righteousness, because He is The Covenant of our Righteousness between GOD and man.
