The Messenger of The LORD, Who is
also The Pre-incarnate Christ.

It has be suggested that, "In order to make the jump from “a messenger for God” to being “God—the pre-incarnate Jesus Christ,” there would have to be some clear scriptural evidence that showed that was the case, but that evidence does not exist. The concept of agency, that the agent speaks on full behalf of the “sender,” explains the records more than adequately.”

It is the purpose of this document to represent evidence, which it is said does not exist. The premise has been stated, “The concept of agency, that the agent speaks on full behalf of the “sender,” explains the records more than adequately.” This premise indicates that there is an agent that is sent, and speaks on full behalf of the sender, who sent the agent. Although it is said that the records that explains this concept is more than adequately, many seem to deny the identity of The One Mediator, Who has been sent on behalf of The SENDER, WHO sent Him. There is evidence that The Mediator that was sent is The Same Mediator that came from The SENDER, WHO sent Him.

To establish a starting point in this presentation, there must be a clear Scriptural connection that establishes The Man Christ Jesus, as The Word of GOD, Who is The Christ--The Son of GOD Who was sent from The Father, WHO sent Him. And that He was with The Father from before the world existed, to be sent on behalf of GOD to this world. This Scriptural connection is found in the prayer of Jesus, Who prayed to His Father on behalf of His disciples, whom He is also representing to HIM, WHO sent Him. In His prayer Jesus said, “And now, O Father, glorify thou me with thine own self with the glory which I had with thee before the world was” (John 17:5).

In this request that Christ Jesus prayed to His Father, He has established clearly that The Father glorified Him with HIS OWN PRESENCE, with HIS OWN glory, which He had with The Father from before the world was. Jesus did not identify The Father as “THEM”, but HIM, Who was with Him before the world was. If Christ Jesus has established a connection to His Father before the world was created, then our understanding of His relationship with The Father must be directed to that time before the world was even created.

In John testimony of Christ, he wrote of Him and said, “In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God” (John 1:1). Many have sought to prove, without the support of Scriptural evidence that The Word that was with God is the same Character, Who is GOD. In other words, they see no difference between The Word, who is God and GOD, WHO was with The Word in the beginning. By His Own Testimony, Jesus has declared that He was with The Father before the beginning of the earth. His Testimony has established that He was not in the beginning by Himself. John has declared that, “…the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth” (John 1:14). This testimony confirms to us that Christ, Who established His connection to His Father before the world was, He was not always of flesh, but He is The Same Word, Who became flesh and dwelt among men.

In the first verse of John’s witness of Christ, the words of his testimony of Christ has reveal the position and status of The Characters in that time of the beginning before the earth was.

Phrase (A) says: “In the beginning was the Word”
Phrase (B) says: “The Word was with God”
Phrase (C) says: “The Word was God”

Phrase (A) has revealed by the use of the word “was” that the position of The Word “was” there before the beginning. Phrase (B) reveals that The Word was positioned there at the beginning with GOD, meaning that He was in the company of GOD. And phrase (C) reveals the status of The Word, Who was also God. Without supporting Scripture to help build our understanding of the relationship of The Word, Who was there in the beginning with GOD, these phrases are inconclusive on there own to give a clear picture to one, who has not a clear understanding of What GOD has revealed by HIS Word. This means that there are other verses in The Scriptures that will help to build our comprehension on this verse, to understand The Truth of the relationship between The Word and GOD.

To develop a clearer understanding of what John has revealed to us in this first verse of his testimony, we need to look at what Paul has testified in his letter to the Hebrews. Paul wrote and said, “God, who at sundry times and in divers manners spake in time past unto the fathers by the prophets, Hath in these last days spoken unto us by [his] Son, whom he hath appointed heir of all things, by whom also he made the worlds. Who being the brightness of [his] glory, and the express image of his person, and upholding all things by the word of his power...” (Hebrews 1:1-3).

Notice that GOD had not spoken unto the fathers directly, but by the prophets, who were His mediators through whom He spoke to the fathers. And HE has in these last days spoken unto us by HIS Son; Whom HE has appointed Heir of all things, by Whom also HE made the worlds. GOD did not speak to HIS Son indirectly, but directly through Him, HE speaks to us in these last days, and by HIS Son, HE also made the worlds. The Son of GOD, Who is of GOD, He is The Brightness of HIS Glory, and The Express Image of HIS PERSON.

Speaking of GOD, WHO spoke directly unto HIS Son, Paul said of HIM that, “…unto the Son [he saith], Thy throne, O God, [is] for ever and ever: a sceptre of righteousness [is] the sceptre of thy kingdom. Thou hast loved righteousness, and hated iniquity; therefore God, [even] thy God, hath anointed thee with the oil of gladness above thy fellows And, Thou, Lord, in the beginning hast laid the foundation of the earth; and the heavens are the works of thine hands” (Hebrews 1:8-10). This testimony reveals that The Word of GOD, Who is The Son of GOD, He is The Word through Whom GOD made the heavens and laid the foundation of the earth. This means that He had to exist before the world to create heavens and laid the foundation of the earth.

From this testimony, we have a clearer picture of John’s testimony on not only verse one, but also verses two and three. With this clearer picture of John’s testimony, The Word of GOD is declared to be not The SAME GOD, but The Son of GOD through Whom HE speaks unto us in these last days. The Word, Who was with GOD in the beginning, He is also God, according to The Father’s OWN Testimony, in declaring that HIS Son is also God, being anointed with the oil of gladness above His fellows.

And speaking of The Word that was with God and was God, John testified and said, “The same was in the beginning with God. All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made” (John 1:2, 3). Here again, John is referring, not to The SAME GOD, but to The Same Word, Who is The Son of GOD by Whom GOD--The Father created all things. John made this clear by saying that all things were made by HIM (GOD--The Father); and without Him (The Son of GOD) was not any thing made that was made, because all things were made by GOD through HIS Word--The Son of GOD, Who also made the heavens, and laid the foundation of the earth, and the worlds.

Paul added to this picture of The Father and The Son by testifying of Him, “Who is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn of every creature: For by him were all things created, that are in heaven, and that are in earth, visible and invisible, whether [they be] thrones, or dominions, or principalities, or powers: all things were created by him, and for him: And he is before all things, and by him all things consist” (Colossians 1:15-17). Notice that it is by Him--The Son of GOD that all things consist. And notice carefully that He--The Word--The Son of GOD, He existed before all things. He did not just come into being after GOD had created all things. John has declared that without Him--The Son of GOD), was not any thing made that was made. This is not saying that GOD has created all things without HIS Son. No. It is quite the opposite. John is saying that The Son of GOD was in every work of creation. There was nothing created that He was not involve in the work of bringing it into existence.

John has testified of The Word and said, “In him was life; and the life was the light of men. And the light shineth in darkness; and the darkness comprehended it not” (John 1:4, 5). Many have read these words and have not comprehended The Light of GOD’S Word, Who has being revealed to us in The Words of Scripture. He, Who created all things, John has testified of Him, and said that, “He was in the world, and the world was made by him, and the world knew him not. He came unto his own, and his own received him not” (John 1:10, 11). This confirms The Truth that The Light of GOD’S Word was shining to the hearts of men, but men who were in darkness and death, they could not comprehend The Light of Life, Who was shinning unto them.

John has testified of The Word--The Son of GOD and said, “He that cometh from above is above all: he that is of the earth is earthly, and speaketh of the earth: he that cometh from heaven is above all. And what he hath seen and heard, that he testifieth; and no man receiveth his testimony. He that hath received his testimony hath set to his seal that God is true. For he whom God hath sent speaketh the words of God: for God giveth not the Spirit by measure [unto him]. The Father loveth the Son, and hath given all things into his hand. He that believeth on the Son hath everlasting life: and he that believeth not the Son shall not see life; but the wrath of God abideth on him” (John 3:30-36).

Notice that from this testimony, The Word--The Son of GOD did not originate from this world. John has testified that He came from above, or that He was sent from above. And having come from above, He is above all His fellows in both heaven and earth. John has said that what He has seen and heard, that he has Testified; and no man received His Testimony. However, he that hath received His Testimony, he has set to his seal that God is True. For He, Whom GOD has sent speaks The Words of GOD. In other words, He is a Mediator, Who speaks on behalf of GOD, to those, who will receive GOD’S Word, Who is sent from GOD to reveal HIS Words.

Speaking of The Son of GOD and of The Father, WHO sent Him, John said “Who is a liar but he that denieth that Jesus is the Christ? He is antichrist, that denieth the Father and the Son. Whosoever denieth the Son, the same hath not the Father: [(but) he that acknowledgeth the Son hath the Father also]. Let that therefore abide in you, which ye have heard from the beginning. If that which ye have heard from the beginning shall remain in you, ye also shall continue in the Son, and in the Father” (1 John 2:22-24). In other words, because of the darken condition of man by sin--which is the condition of being without The Light and Life of The Word of GOD in man, there is no direct connection to GOD The Father apart from first receiving a connection to GOD by the receiving of HIS Word, Whom HE has sent.

Many are denying The Son by implicating that it was GOD The Father, WHO spoke directly to the fathers without the connection of HIS Word, Whom HE has sent. The Scriptures clearly teach that, “No man hath seen God at any time; the only begotten Son, which is in the bosom of the Father, he hath declared [him]” (John 1:18). This means that it was The Son of GOD, Who has made The Father known to men. This testimony reveals to us that in all the communications from GOD to man, this connection by HIS Word has either been directly, or by His angels, or by His prophets through whom The Word spoke The Will of GOD to men. This is not the only evidence that confirms this to be the case. To the Jews, Jesus said, “…the Father himself, which hath sent me, hath borne witness of me. Ye have neither heard his voice at any time, nor seen his shape. And ye have not his word abiding in you: for whom he hath sent, him ye believe not. Search the scriptures; for in them ye think ye have eternal life: and they are they which testify of me” (John 5:37-39).

Jesus has said that The Father HIMSELF, WHO sent Him, HE has borne WITNESS of Him. How does The Father bear WITNESS of HIS Son, Whom HE has sent? HE, WHO does all things by HIS Word, does HE bear WITNESS to men apart from HIS Son, Whom HE has sent? John has already testified that, “…he whom God hath sent speaketh the words of God: for God giveth not the Spirit by measure [unto him]” (John 3:34). This means that it is by The Word of GOD--The Son of GOD that The Father speaks HIS Will to men.

And Jesus has confirmed that The Father speaks to men through Him, Who is The Mediator between GOD and man. He said, “…My doctrine is not mine, but his that sent me. If any man will do his will, he shall know of the doctrine, whether it be of God, or [whether] I speak of myself. He that speaketh of himself seeketh his own glory: but he that seeketh his glory that sent him, the same is true, and no unrighteousness is in him” (John 7:16-18).

In His prayer to The Father, Jesus said, “I have manifested thy name unto the men which thou gavest me out of the world: thine they were, and thou gavest them me; and they have kept thy word” (John 17:6). Notice that Jesus has confirmed that because GOD The Father has not been seen or heard by no man, all communication of GOD has been by HIS Son--The Word of GOD, Whom HE has sent. He has declared that it was through Him that The Father was manifested to men. It was The Word of GOD, Who spoke GOD’S Words to Moses in HIS behalf. And through Moses He spoke to the children of Israel. The CHARACTER of GOD was revealed to Moses through The Son, Who is The Express Image of HIS PERSON, or HIS PRESENCE. In His Testimony of The Father, Jesus has revealed that The Father has given to Him the men, which came to Him out of the world, and HE has given to them Him--The Word of GOD; and they have kept GOD’S Word, Whom HE has sent.

To confirm this, notice what Luke has testified to us of GOD’S Word, Whom HE has delivered unto them by Him, Whom HE has sent. Jesus said to His disciples, who were to go on His behalf to all nations, and in His Name and in His behalf, they were to open to the hearts of men The Word of Truth from GOD. He said to them, “Let these sayings sink down into your ears: for the Son of man shall be delivered into the hands of men. But they understood not this saying, and it was hid from them, that they perceived it not: and they feared to ask him of that saying. Then there arose a reasoning among them, which of them should be greatest. And Jesus, perceiving the thought of their heart, took a child, and set him by him, And said unto them, Whosoever shall receive this child in my name receiveth me: and whosoever shall receive me receiveth him that sent me: for he that is least among you all, the same shall be great” (Luke 9:44-48).

Notice that as The Father delivered The Word of Eternal Life into the hands of Christ disciples, Christ Jesus also sent His disciples into the world to reveal Him to men. But the disciples at that time did not understand the sayings that were being delivered unto them. Neither do many of the translations of the Bible interpret correctly what GOD was saying by HIS Word to those, who will hear HIM by HIS Word. Today many of our translations interpret the word delivered as betrayed. In other words, they are not opening to the hearts of men and women The Truth of GOD’S Word that they might hear GOD speaking to them by HIS Word through the testimony of His disciples. By man’s own interpretations they blind their own minds from seen The Truth of GOD’S Word, Whom HE has sent.

In His reproof against the scribes, who were the interpreters and teachers of the Mosaic law and in the sacred writings, Jesus said, “…woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! for ye shut up the kingdom of heaven against men: for ye neither go in [yourselves], neither suffer ye them that are entering to go in” (Matthew 23:13). Notice that if the interpreters and the teachers of the Mosaic Law and of the sacred writings could not hear The Father speaking by HIS Word, Whom HE has delivered unto men, then if they have not received HIS Word in their hearts, then they cannot represent Him and deliver HIS doctrine by opening to the hearts of men and women HIS Word, Whom HE has sent.

Jesus has revealed a principle, which has been established from before the foundation of the world. He said to His disciples, “Whosoever shall receive this child in my name receiveth me: and whosoever shall receive me receiveth him that sent me: for he that is least among you all, the same shall be great” (Luke 9:48). This is the high calling Christ has called all to partake of in representing Him, as He represents The Father through us to the hearts of men. Is this the work that men are doing today, in their mishandling of The Word of GOD to men?

Paul has testified of this high calling when he demonstrated The Spirit of GOD working HIS Will through him. Paul said, “…I was with you in weakness, and in fear, and in much trembling. And my speech and my preaching [was] not with enticing words of man's wisdom, but in demonstration of the Spirit and of power: That your faith should not stand in the wisdom of men, but in the power of God. Howbeit we speak wisdom among them that are perfect: yet not the wisdom of this world, nor of the princes of this world, that come to nought: But we speak the wisdom of God in a mystery, [even] the hidden [wisdom], which God ordained before the world unto our glory: Which none of the princes of this world knew: for had they known [it], they would not have crucified the Lord of glory. But as it is written, Eye hath not seen, nor ear heard, neither have entered into the heart of man, the things which God hath prepared for them that love him. But God hath revealed [them] unto us by his Spirit: for the Spirit searcheth all things, yea, the deep things of God” (1 Corinthians 2:3-10).

Jesus Testified of Himself, of His True nature, which is not of flesh. For He in His human flesh said, “As the living Father hath sent me, and I live by the Father: so he that eateth me, even he shall live by me. This is that bread which came down from heaven: not as your fathers did eat manna, and are dead: he that eateth of this bread shall live for ever. These things said he in the synagogue, as he taught in Capernaum. Many therefore of his disciples, when they had heard [this], said, This is an hard saying; who can hear it? When Jesus knew in himself that his disciples murmured at it, he said unto them, Doth this offend you? [What] and if ye shall see the Son of man ascend up where he was before? It is the spirit that quickeneth; the flesh profiteth nothing: the words that I speak unto you, [they] are spirit, and [they] are life. But there are some of you that believe not. For Jesus knew from the beginning who they were that believed not, and who should betray him” (John 6:57-63). Notice that Jesus has testified in this passage of Scripture that He—The Son of man shall ascend up where He was before. This statement by itself establishes a pre-incarnate existence. With all the versions of Scripture that men present in their mishandling of The Word of GOD, are there among us in this world men and women, who are betraying Him rather than representing Him?

Through His disciple Luke, Jesus has testified to us of Himself. He said unto them, “He that heareth you heareth me; and he that despiseth you despiseth me; and he that despiseth me despiseth him that sent me. And the seventy returned again with joy, saying, Lord, even the devils are subject unto us through thy name. And he said unto them, I beheld Satan as lightning fall from heaven. Behold, I give unto you power to tread on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy: and nothing shall by any means hurt you. Notwithstanding in this rejoice not, that the spirits are subject unto you; but rather rejoice, because your names are written in heaven” (Luke 10:16-20).

Notice that Christ Jesus has confirmed to His disciples that it was He, Who gave to His disciples Power to overcome all the power of the enemy. It is He, Who gives us Power to overcome the enemy even today. And if He is The Power of GOD, Who works through those, who receive Him, then it is The Father, WHO has given HIS Word of Power to those, who receive HIS Son, Who is The Power of GOD.

Luke testified to us of that which fills Christ Spirit with Joy. He said, “In that hour Jesus rejoiced in spirit, and said, I thank thee, O Father, Lord of heaven and earth, that thou hast hid these things from the wise and prudent, and hast revealed them unto babes: even so, Father; for so it seemed good in thy sight. All things are delivered to me of my Father: and no man knoweth who the Son is, but the Father; and who the Father is, but the Son, and [he] to whom the Son will reveal [him]. And he turned him unto [his] disciples, and said privately, Blessed [are] the eyes which see the things that ye see: For I tell you, that many prophets and kings have desired to see those things which ye see, and have not seen [them]; and to hear those things which ye hear, and have not heard [them]” (Luke 10:21-24).

To many in the world today, The Things of GOD are hidden, even though they are hidden in plain sight, because men do not comprehend The Things of GOD, and they mishandle The Word of GOD, to present a version of The Scriptures to fit their own wisdom. Yet, Jesus said, “…I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me. If ye had known me, ye should have known my Father also: and from henceforth ye know him, and have seen him” (John 14:6, 7).

Having received The Word of Power from GOD, WHO sent Him, John testified of Him and said, “That which was from the beginning, which we have heard, which we have seen with our eyes, which we have looked upon, and our hands have handled, of the Word of life; (For the life was manifested, and we have seen [it], and bear witness, and shew unto you that eternal life, which was with the Father, and was manifested unto us;) That which we have seen and heard declare we unto you, that ye also may have fellowship with us: and truly our fellowship [is] with the Father, and with his Son Jesus Christ. And these things write we unto you, that your joy may be full. This then is the message which we have heard of him, and declare unto you, that God is light, and in him is no darkness at all. If we say that we have fellowship with him, and walk in darkness, we lie, and do not the truth: But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship one with another, and the blood of Jesus Christ his Son cleanseth us from all sin” (1 John 1:1-7).

Notice that John acknowledges that The Son of GOD—Christ Jesus, He was from the beginning. He did not just come into being at His human birth through Mary. He is The Source of Light and Life to all living things, including Mary, who was human like any other woman who descended from Adam and Eve. She was blessed to provide to Him a body for His divine Spirit to dwell in.

Having received The Light of GOD’S Word, John has testified of The Word, Who confirmed through him The Truth and said, “Now they have known that all things whatsoever thou hast given me are of thee. For I have given unto them the words which thou gavest me; and they have received [them], and have known surely that I came out from thee, and they have believed that thou didst send me” (John 17:7, 8). Although many are today denying The Light of Truth, to walk in darkness to The Truth and Power of GOD, His disciples believed on Him, and have acknowledged The Truth that He came out from GOD. Not on earth, but before all things were created by Him.

To confirm The Truth of His birth, Jesus said to His disciples, “These things have I spoken unto you in proverbs: but the time cometh, when I shall no more speak unto you in proverbs, but I shall shew you plainly of the Father. At that day ye shall ask in my name: and I say not unto you, that I will pray the Father for you: For the Father himself loveth you, because ye have loved me, and have believed that I came out from God. I came forth from the Father, and am come into the world: again, I leave the world, and go to the Father. His disciples said unto him, Lo, now speakest thou plainly, and speakest no proverb. Now are we sure that thou knowest all things, and needest not that any man should ask thee: by this we believe that thou camest forth from God. Jesus answered them, Do ye now believe?” (John 16:25-31) Notice that according to this Testimony, the phrase that is used to identify “The Son of GOD”, it is not just a title to make a distinction between GOD—The Father and HIS Son. No. The Son of GOD has declared that He came out of GOD, and He came from GOD into the world to return to GOD, Who sent Him. He was not speaking of Mary or Joseph; He was giving glory to His Father by acknowledging HIM as The SOURCE of His divine nature.

With all the many versions of Scripture in man’s possession today, the same question can be addressed to us in these last days. Do we now believe What He has seen and heard of GOD and have revealed to us also in The Written Word? I hope you can say yes to The Only True GOD and Jesus Christ, Whom HE has sent in both The Old Testament time, and in The New Testament time, and also in these last days through What HE has revealed by HIS Word to our hearts. GOD bless you as you continue to receive HIS Word, Whom HE has sent.

The individual, who suggested that "that evidence does not exist", he said, "There is no testimony of Scripture affirming Christ is the 'preincarnate Angel of the Lord.” In response to his claim, I said, "I think that you are not taking into account the testimony of Scripture by Peter, who spoke of The Spirit of Christ, Who was in the prophets, whom God spoke through to the fathers of Israel."

A question was raised to this person. This was the question: "How do you "--" interpret this passage of Scripture? Which says, “For Christ also hath once suffered for sins, the just for the unjust, that he might bring us to God, being put to death in the flesh, but quickened by the Spirit: By which also he went and preached unto the spirits in prison; Which sometime were disobedient, when once the longsuffering of God waited in the days of Noah, while the ark was a preparing, wherein few, that is, eight souls were saved by water” (1Peter 3:18-20).

Because there were many denials to the evidence presented, it was stated, to the individual, "Which translation will you use to fit your understanding of this verse?"

A member of the study group also requested my understanding of this verse, which I did plan to share after the individual had shared his understanding of this passage of Scripture, since he kept denying the evidence presented. But even though he was given time to respond with his understanding of the passage, he did not respond before I responded to the group member's request.

My response and understanding of this verse.

I said, "In connection to the subject matter of this posting, this passage of Scripture is just another bit of evidence, which is a part of the whole, which I sought to present in this study. But of course, it all depends upon which interpretation of Scripture one chooses to accept, and its’ implications.

For Christ also has once suffered for sins, He--The Just for the unjust sinner, that He might bring us to God, being put to death in His human nature of flesh, but quickened to Life by His Spirit of Life. For He spoke of His Power of Life in His human flesh and said, “No man taketh it from me, but I lay it down of myself. I have power to lay it down, and I have power to take it again. This commandment have I received of my Father” (John 10:18).

By His Spirit of Life also Christ went and preached unto the spirits in prison; which sometime were disobedient. When did Christ preach to the spirits, who were disobedient? Answer, WHEN once the longsuffering of God waited IN THE DAYS of Noah, WHILE THE ARK WAS A PREPARING, wherein few, that is, eight souls were saved by water. The LORD Testified of Him and said in the days of Noah, “…My spirit shall not always strive with man, for that he also [is] flesh: yet his days shall be an hundred and twenty years” (Genesis 6:3). At the completion of the building of The Ark, the flood came upon those, who were disobedient.

Peter said, “Who shall give account to him that is ready to judge the quick and the dead. For for this cause was the gospel preached also to them that are dead, that they might be judged according to men in the flesh, but live according to God in the spirit. But the end of all things is at hand: be ye therefore sober, and watch unto prayer. And above all things have fervent charity among yourselves: for charity shall cover the multitude of sins. Use hospitality one to another without grudging” (1 Peter 4:5-9).

The purpose of presenting this verse is to revealed the evidence that Christ was preaching through righteous Noah, just as He preached through Paul, and His disciples, and His prophets of old. For Paul wrote and said, “Since ye seek a proof of Christ speaking in me, which to you-ward is not weak, but is mighty in you. For though he was crucified through weakness, yet he liveth by the power of God. For we also are weak in him, but we shall live with him by the power of God toward you. Examine yourselves, whether ye be in the faith; prove your own selves. Know ye not your own selves, how that Jesus Christ is in you, except ye be reprobates? But I trust that ye shall know that we are not reprobates” (2 Corinthians 13:3-6).

To further confirm this Truth, which I think we all should read carefully, Peter said, “Peter, an apostle of Jesus Christ, to the strangers scattered throughout Pontus, Galatia, Cappadocia, Asia, and Bithynia, Elect according to the foreknowledge of God the Father, through sanctification of the Spirit, unto obedience and sprinkling of the blood of Jesus Christ: Grace unto you, and peace, be multiplied. Blessed [be] the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, which according to his abundant mercy hath begotten us again unto a lively hope by the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead, To an inheritance incorruptible, and undefiled, and that fadeth not away, reserved in heaven for you, Who are kept by the power of God through faith unto salvation ready to be revealed in the last time.

“Wherein ye greatly rejoice, though now for a season, if need be, ye are in heaviness through manifold temptations: That the trial of your faith, being much more precious than of gold that perisheth, though it be tried with fire, might be found unto praise and honour and glory at the appearing of Jesus Christ: Whom having not seen, ye love; in whom, though now ye see [him] not, yet believing, ye rejoice with joy unspeakable and full of glory: Receiving the end of your faith, [even] the salvation of [your] souls. Of which salvation the prophets have enquired and searched diligently, who prophesied of the grace [that should come] unto you: Searching what, or what manner of time the Spirit of Christ which was in them did signify, when it testified beforehand the sufferings of Christ, and the glory that should follow.

“Unto whom it was revealed, that not unto themselves, but unto us they did minister the things, which are now reported unto you by them that have preached the gospel unto you with the Holy Ghost sent down from heaven; which things the angels desire to look into. Wherefore gird up the loins of your mind, be sober, and hope to the end for the grace that is to be brought unto you at the revelation of Jesus Christ; As obedient children, not fashioning yourselves according to the former lusts in your ignorance: But as he which hath called you is holy, so be ye holy in all manner of conversation; Because it is written, Be ye holy; for I am holy.

“And if ye call on the Father, who without respect of persons judgeth according to every man's work, pass the time of your sojourning [here] in fear: Forasmuch as ye know that ye were not redeemed with corruptible things, [as] silver and gold, from your vain conversation [received] by tradition from your fathers; But with the precious blood of Christ, as of a lamb without blemish and without spot: Who verily was foreordained before the foundation of the world, but was manifest in these last times for you, Who by him do believe in God, that raised him up from the dead, and gave him glory; that your faith and hope might be in God. Seeing ye have purified your souls in obeying the truth through the Spirit unto unfeigned love of the brethren, [see that ye] love one another with a pure heart fervently: Being born again, not of corruptible seed, but of incorruptible, by the word of God, which liveth and abideth for ever” (1 Peter 1:1-23).
