“For Christ [is] the end of the law for righteousness
to every one that believeth”
(Romans 10:4).

In looking at the title of this study, some would automatically jump to the conclusion that Paul is saying that Christ has done away, or He has abolished The Law of GOD. To come to this conclusion, a person would need to disregard other verses that are presented in The Scriptures, which are just as important to our understanding of this verse by Paul.

Often times when Jesus presented a spiritual thought to those, who had ears to hear, He would use an illustration, to bring to light The Truth of that, which had been hard for the growing student of The Scriptures to understand, or to comprehend. But often times those, who had not ears to hear what He was saying to them, they would turn and walk no more with Him, because His sayings were hard for them to digest, such as His seventy disciples, who spoke against Him to those, who heard them, saying, “This is an hard saying; who can hear it?” (John 6:60)

This saying of The Word through Paul, has been misunderstood by many, who present these words to make their claim that Christ Jesus has abolished The Law of Ten Commandments, and that we are no longer under The Law but under grace. And in speaking against misapplying The Word of understanding that is revealed through Paul, Peter wrote and said, “Wherefore, beloved, seeing that ye look for such things, be diligent that ye may be found of him in peace, without spot, and blameless. And account [that] the longsuffering of our Lord [is] salvation; even as our beloved brother Paul also according to the wisdom given unto him hath written unto you; As also in all [his] epistles, speaking in them of these things; in which are some things hard to be understood, which they that are unlearned and unstable wrest, as [they do] also the other scriptures, unto their own destruction” (2 Peter 3:14-16).

Notice that there are many places within the writings of Paul, or parts of The Scriptures where those, who are unlearned and unstable in their understanding of The Word, wrest The Scriptures to say things that are not the intent of The Words of Scripture. For The Word of GOD, Who spoke through His servant David said, “Every day they wrest my words: all their thoughts [are] against me for evil. They gather themselves together, they hide themselves, they mark my steps, when they wait for my soul” (Psalms 56:5, 6). To avoid doing this very thing, we are to, “Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths” (Proverbs 3:5, 6).

To understand the title of this study without wresting the meaning of the verse to fit our own understanding, we must follow The Counsel of The Word to lean not to our own understanding, but to acknowledge Him in all of our ways, and He will direct our path. So, to bring to light The Truth of the verse from which the title is drawn, I will use an illustration on a topic upon which everyone can relate.

I have my license to drive; I am no longer under a tutor. In most countries that govern its’ citizens with some rule of law, there are judgments written, to guide a citizen towards his destination of receiving a license, to drive upon the public roads, and highways, to interact with other drivers, while maintaining a safe driving condition. A person of age, or under age, who is taking his, or her first steps towards a license to drive; he, or she would need a learners permit from the state, to drive with an accompanied licensed driver, who can tutor the student in driving upon the public roads.

By having an accompanied licensed driver, as a tutor, a student driver could learn all that would be needed, to interact safely with other drivers on the public roads and highways. But before the student can jump into a vehicle and begin driving upon the roads and highways, that student would need to learn the mechanical laws that governs the control of the vehicle in which he, or she would be driving, to control the vehicle, as an extension of ones’ will in a safe driving environment. The student would need to know the vehicle inside and out, and how to communicate to other drivers the will and intention of being the driver of the vehicle.

The tutor also instructs the student on the laws that govern how the vehicle should be handled on the public roads and highways. There are road markings on the road, and signs of varying colors and shapes on the side of the road, and even over the road, to give instructions to the driver in giving advance notice to the driver, to help in the handling of the vehicle on the roads and highways. There are also laws that are call for in the use of good judgments when the weather might be a factor in the handling of the vehicle in bad road conditions.

The tutor also instructs the student on the rules that govern the interaction of not only other drivers on the road, but also bicyclist and pedestrians, which requires the driver to learn defensive and precautionary safe driving tips, to avoid collision that can result in personal injury. All these laws help to give and create a safe driving experience on the public roads and highways, to safely get a driver from point “A” to point “B”. But this can only happen if the drivers are in full control of their vehicles, to control the movements of the vehicle safely on the roads and highways. When substances are taken into the body of a driver, to cause an alteration in the perception and the responsiveness of the driver, this leads to unsafe driving conditions for the driver, as well as an unsafe environment, for all that can come in contact with a vehicle driven by a driver, who has lost control of his, or her perception of the direction and the movements of his vehicle.

All these laws and judgments the tutor must help the student to understand, to help him, or her to become a good driver, to drive safely on the road with other drivers. And after a student driver has learned these laws and can handle the vehicle under varying conditions to maintain a safe driving condition with other drivers, that student takes both a written and a driving examination, to test for safe driving conditions. And if the student driver passes both the written and the driving test, to demonstrate that he, or she has that ability, to know and handle the vehicle in a safe driving condition, the state issues the driver a license to drive on its’ public roads and highways.

Now, here are some questions for you my brothers and sisters to consider. After the driver receives a license from the state, and he, or she no longer needs a tutor, to drive upon the roads and highways; does the license from the state give the driver freedom to drive without abiding by the Laws of the state? Is the license driver now free to drive on the public roads in opposition to the laws that governs safe driving conditions? Did the tutor instruct the student driver to break the driving laws, or to uphold them? As drivers with issued license from the state, to drive upon its’ roads and highways, do we have a license to freely drive anywhere that we please, through none public properties, and in opposition to on coming vehicles? The government would say to these questions, “The driving laws forbids this.” And any officer of the law would be under obligation, to issue a ticket to drivers, who break the laws that govern the safety of other drivers, who abide by the laws on the public roads and highways.

But what if the whole world were to make laws that governs and leads its’ citizens to be deceived by following the adversary, who with his foot on the gas pedal, full to the floor, leading both men and women towards the destination of hell? The overhead sign on this broad road to hell would read, the antichrist is the end of the law for destruction, to everyone that believes not The Truth. The question to consider is this: Are we on the broad road that leads to destruction, or are we following The Only Way that leads to the end for Righteousness?

This world has been created by GOD by The Power of HIS Word, “…whom he hath appointed heir of all things, by whom also he made the worlds” (Hebrews 1:2). HIS government involves running a universe of planets and other worlds that interact with each other. When man was led to sin in opposition to GOD’S Law, Which is The Covenant of HIS Word; in that day, even before Adam could live to see a thousand years, the process of a unsafe living environment began to tear this world apart. If we are to live in GOD’S universe with other holy beings, who live righteous lives in harmony with GOD’S Will; and after Christ has died to redeem us from the law of sin and death, would His Gift of Grace be a license to us, to live among holy beings without abiding by GOD Law of faith by His Spirit? Paul would say, “GOD forbid”.
