By asking His disciples the question, "Whom do men say that I the Son of man am?" Jesus was revealing that there are many sources from which the enticing words of manís wisdom might be given, and from which men might choose to drink. But the real focus of the question to His disciples is this, "If the thoughts and ways of GOD were to be opened and revealed to the hearts of men, would we trust and live by every Word that comes from The Mouth of GOD, or accept and live by the enticing words of man's wisdom?"

With many sources available on the coasts of Caesarea Philippi, the disciples answered and said unto Him, "...Some say that thou art John the Baptist: some, Elias; and others, Jeremias, or one of the prophets" (Matthew 16:14).

Could it be that there are many today within the Christian church, which rely and accept the most popular view in doctrine, because it is what they have heard over time and time again? Could it be that many believe that they are safe in following the popular view, because the majority cannot all be wrong? Do we follow a doctrine today because the majority believes it is true? Are we to follow The Truth, because we think it is The Truth, or because we know from The Father that it is The Truth? Could it be that GOD wants to know today our hearts on where we stand in our faith, on receiving HIS Revelation of Truth?

After revealing the evidence to build the faith of His disciples, Jesus wanted to confirm where His disciples stood in their faith, and from what source they would choose to drink. He addressed them directly, saying, "...But whom say ye that I am?" (Matthew 16:15). The question to His disciples also reveals to us that even though they had many sources from which to choose, Jesus wanted to confirm that The Contact from heaven was secure in their hearts. If they were to be His witnesses to the world, they needed to lean and trust in That SOURCE and not in the enticing words of manís wisdom. This is The Demonstration of The Spirit and of Power, Which He came to baptize and impart to men.

And because Peter trusted not in the wisdom of men, Matthew testified of his answer to The Lord, saying, "...Simon Peter answered and said, Thou art the Christ, the Son of the living God" (Matthew 16:16).

How could Peter give this answer, which is different
from all the other answers given by men?

When answering a question of a spiritual nature, many are quick to give an answer based on their beliefs, rather than giving an answer based on what GOD has revealed. The question is really this, "How does GOD reveal HIS answer to the minds of men?" Some would say that HE has revealed HIS answer to them through a third divine being, who is invisible to the eyes of men. Others would say that because Jesus and The Father is One, meaning that He and The Father is The Same Person, then it was He, Who revealed the answer to Peter. But this is not what The Word of GOD has revealed to us. We cannot simply add a statement based on the wisdom of men to fit our beliefs without the evidence of GOD to support that belief. And because Peter relied not on the private interpretation of men, but on the demonstration of The Spirit and of Power, "...Jesus answered and said unto him, Blessed art thou, Simon Barjona: for flesh and blood hath not revealed it unto thee, but my Father which is in heaven" (Matthew 16:17).

Is it clear to us, as to WHOM it was that revealed The Truth to Peter and John the Baptist that Jesus is the Son of GOD? Is there any doubt as to WHO it was that revealed The Son of GOD to man? Because of Peterís faith, The SAME PERSON from heaven, WHO revealed to him the Son of GOD testified and said to him, "...I say also unto thee, That thou art Peter, and upon this rock I will build my church; and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it. And I will give unto thee the keys of the kingdom of heaven: and whatsoever thou shalt bind on earth shall be bound in heaven: and whatsoever thou shalt loose on earth shall be loosed in heaven" (Matthew 16:18,19).

Notice the littlie word "also" which reveals to us that in addition to That, Which was revealed before, The SAME PERSON not of flesh and blood, WHO revealed The Son of GOD to Peter and John, HE will build HIS church upon "The Rock", Which will prevail against the gates of hell, through which the error of men will seek to enter. This is the reason that Isaiah testified and said, "Therefore thus saith the Lord GOD, Behold, I lay in Zion for a foundation a stone, a tried stone, a precious corner stone, a sure foundation: he that believeth shall not make haste. Judgment also will I lay to the line, and righteousness to the plummet: and the hail shall sweep away the refuge of lies, and the waters shall overflow the hiding place" (Isaiah 28:16,17).

To sweep away the refuge of lies that has kept many separated from The Truth, Matthew testified of what he saw and heard, saying, "...after six days Jesus taketh Peter, James, and John his brother, and bringeth them up into an high mountain apart, And was transfigured before them: and his face did shine as the sun, and his raiment was white as the light. And, behold, there appeared unto them Moses and Elias talking with him.

"Then answered Peter, and said unto Jesus, Lord, it is good for us to be here: if thou wilt, let us make here three tabernacles; one for thee, and one for Moses, and one for Elias. While he yet spake, behold, a bright cloud overshadowed them: and behold a voice out of the cloud, which said, This is my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased; hear ye him" (Matthew 17:1-5).

The question is this, why was it good for the disciples to be there at this important meeting? Was it the will of Christ for them to follow their own reasoning to build there three tabernacles, one for Jesus, one for Moses and one for Elias? Why were they there? Could it be that they were there to be His witnesses to us that through them The Father could build HIS Church on what they have seen and heard of HIS Word of Truth and not of the wisdom of men? Could it be that Moses and Elias stood with HIM as a witness to us, that the Law and the prophets also pointed to Him, as the One, Whom The Father has sent? And could it be that The Father came among them to make it clear to man that Christ is HIS Son and has been HIS Son from the beginning?

Does the world have ears to hear and believe in Him, Whom The Father has sent? Could we as sheep in HIS church hear Him over the wisdom of the wolves, which are dressed in sheep's clothing? Do we listen to HIM as He leads us home by HIS Word, Whom HE has sent? John the Baptist as a minister of The Word of GOD, testified of Him and said, "...A man can receive nothing, except it be given him from heaven. Ye yourselves bear me witness, that I said, I am not the Christ, but that I am sent before him. He that hath the bride is the bridegroom: but the friend of the bridegroom, which standeth and heareth him, rejoiceth greatly because of the bridegroomís voice: this my joy therefore is fulfilled. He must increase, but I must decrease" (John 3:27-30).

If the church is the bride and Jesus is the Bridegroom, shouldn't we be hearing His voice through those, who minister HIS Word as He draws us home to His Fathers house? John continued in his testimony of The Word and said, "He that cometh from above is above all: he that is of the earth is earthly, and speaketh of the earth: he that cometh from heaven is above all. And what he hath seen and heard, that he testifieth; and no man receiveth his testimony. He that hath received his testimony hath set to his seal that God is true. For he whom God hath sent speaketh the words of God: for God giveth not the Spirit by measure unto him" (John 3:31-34).

Could it be that today many in the church and around the world are receiving more of the enticing words of manís wisdom, than The Testimony of Christ, Which are the things He has seen and heard from The Father, and are sealed in The Book, Which is written of Him? Are there few that have received The Testimony of The Father through Him, Whom HE has sent with HIS SPIRIT? Jesus testified and said, "It is the spirit that quickeneth; the flesh profiteth nothing: the words that I speak unto you, [they] are spirit, and [they] are life. But there are some of you that believe not. For Jesus knew from the beginning who they were that believed not, and who should betray him. And he said, Therefore said I unto you, that no man can come unto me, except it were given unto him of my Father" (John 6:63-65).

Notice the message that is ministered to us through His servant John that there is a difference between the words spoken by one, who is of the earth, and The One, Who is from heaven, Who is above all and is sent to men with The SPIRIT of The ONE, WHO sent Him. Jesus makes it clear that it is The Father, WHO quicken the hearts of men to come unto HIS Son, Whom HE has sent to proclaim HIS Will. But many receive not and believe not HIS Testimony through him, whom He has sent.

Through John, who is of the earth, The Word is made clear that; "The Father loveth the Son, and hath given all things into his hand. He that believeth on the Son hath everlasting life: and he that believeth not the Son shall not see life; but the wrath of God abideth on him" (John 3:35,36).

Could it be that The Testimony of Christ is His Gospel, which many have not received, because they have not heard His Witness form those, who are to proclaim HIS Word? Through the witness of His servant Paul, it is written, saying, "I am debtor both to the Greeks, and to the Barbarians; both to the wise, and to the unwise. So, as much as in me is, I am ready to preach the gospel to you that are at Rome also. For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek. For therein is the righteousness of God revealed from faith to faith: as it is written, The just shall live by faith" (Romans 1:14-17).

Could it be that the gospel of Christ to us is the revealing of The Father, WHICH no man or angel could reveal but He, Whom The Father has sent? Could it be that GOD reveals to us the gospel by faith through those, who proclaim HIS Word as the demonstration of The Spirit and of Power that our faith might stand not in the wisdom of man, but in the Power of GOD?

The Father answers our questions and reveals The Word of Truth to those, who receive HIS Word, Who testified of The Father and said, " Behold, I give unto you power to tread on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy: and nothing shall by any means hurt you. Notwithstanding in this rejoice not, that the spirits are subject unto you; but rather rejoice, because your names are written in heaven. In that hour Jesus rejoiced in spirit, and said, I thank thee, O Father, Lord of heaven and earth, that thou hast hid these things from the wise and prudent, and hast revealed them unto babes: even so, Father; for so it seemed good in thy sight.

"All things are delivered to me of my Father: and no man knoweth who the Son is, but the Father; and who the Father is, but the Son, and [he] to whom the Son will reveal [him]. And he turned him unto [his] disciples, and said privately, Blessed [are] the eyes which see the things that ye see: For I tell you, that many prophets and kings have desired to see those things which ye see, and have not seen [them]; and to hear those things which ye hear, and have not heard [them]" Luke 10:19-24).

From the testimony of those, who received The Word of GOD from all generation, The Truth is revealed that The Father has delivered all things of HIMSELF into The hands and Power of HIS Son, to reveal to those, who have received HIS Word the revelation of The Father, WHO revealed to those, who receive HIS Word, as The Only One, Who could reveal to man The Truth of HIMSELF in Him. But because many have been blinded from The Truth, Paul testified and said, "...the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men, who hold the truth in unrighteousness; Because that which may be known of God is manifest in them; for God hath shewed it unto them. For the invisible things of him from the creation of the world are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even his eternal power and Godhead; so that they are without excuse" (Romans 1:18-20).

From Paul's testimony of The Word, it is clear that The Father has accomplished HIS Will through HIS Word by revealing to men The righteousness of God. However, many have chosen to believe the wisdom of men over the gospel of Christ, Who made known to men The Invisible Things of GOD in His testimony. And because of this choice, many are without excuse, because The Truth of His Eternal Power and Godhead are clearly seen by faith in The Father's Testimony in HIS Son?

The Word of the LORD said, "He that believeth on me, believeth not on me, but on him that sent me. And he that seeth me seeth him that sent me. I am come a light into the world, that whosoever believeth on me should not abide in darkness. And if any man hear my words, and believe not, I judge him not: for I came not to judge the world, but to save the world. He that rejecteth me, and receiveth not my words, hath one that judgeth him: the word that I have spoken, the same shall judge him in the last day.

"For I have not spoken of myself; but the Father which sent me, he gave me a commandment, what I should say, and what I should speak. And I know that his commandment is life everlasting: whatsoever I speak therefore, even as the Father said unto me, so I speak" (John 12:44-50).

Today, the question is being asked, "Who do you say is The Comforter, or The Holy Spirit?" And because there are many gates open from hell, from which error can come into the church, many will turn not to The One Who could give the correct answer to their questions, but to the popular sources from which men choose to drink. Only those, who diligently seek the LORD and trust in every Word that porceeds from The Mouth of GOD, can answer this question correctly. And until the evidence can be presented by GOD and received by those, who diligently seek the LORD and trust in HIS Word, without adding to or taking away from HIS Word, this question cannot be answered correctly by those, who are quick turn to the popular sources for their answer. This question will be addressed again, after reviewing all the evidence presented by GOD in HIS Word.
