The Light to understand our problem,
so we can repent of our error.

Before we new we had a problem, GOD had fixed our condition before hand, to lead our feet from darkness by shining The Light of HIS Glory on all, who would open their hearts to receive The Light of HIS Word. Through the first vision given to her, Ellen G. White testified and said,

“While I was praying at the family altar, the Holy Ghost fell upon me, and I seemed to be rising higher and higher, far above the dark world. I turned to look for the Advent people in the world, but could not find them, when a voice said to me, "Look again, and look a little higher." At this I raised my eyes, and saw a straight and narrow path, cast up high above the world. On this path the Advent people were traveling to the city, which was at the farther end of the path. They had a bright light set up behind them at the beginning of the path, which an angel told me was the midnight cry. This light shone all along the path and gave light for their feet so that they might not stumble.

"If they kept their eyes fixed on Jesus, who was just before them, leading them to the city, they were safe. But soon some grew weary, and said the city was a great way off, and they expected to have entered it before. Then Jesus would encourage them by raising His glorious right arm, and from His arm came a light which waved over the Advent band, and they shouted, "Alleluia!" Others rashly denied the light behind them and said that it was not God that had led them out so far. The light behind them went out, leaving their feet in perfect darkness, and they stumbled and lost sight of the mark and of Jesus, and fell off the path down into the dark and wicked world below.”

In bearing witness to us, who follow behind in these last days, John testified to the church about Jesus and said, "That which was from the beginning, which we have heard, which we have seen with our eyes, which we have looked upon, and our hands have handled, of the Word of life; (For the life was manifested, and we have seen [it], and bear witness, and shew unto you that eternal life, which was with the Father, and was manifested unto us;) That which we have seen and heard declare we unto you, that ye also may have fellowship with us: and truly our fellowship [is] with the Father, and with his Son Jesus Christ. And these things write we unto you, that your joy may be full. This then is the message which we have heard of him, and declare unto you, that God is light, and in him is no darkness at all" (1 John 1:1-5).

If John did not believe, then we would not have His Testimony through him written down for our learning. The Answer to our condition of darkness is in HIS Word. For The Word of GOD is The Lamp and The Light of GOD to our feet. For Jesus said, “...I am the light of the world: he that followeth me shall not walk in darkness, but shall have the light of life. The Pharisees therefore said unto him, Thou bearest record of thyself; thy record is not true. Jesus answered and said unto them, Though I bear record of myself, [yet] my record is true: for I know whence I came, and whither I go; but ye cannot tell whence I come, and whither I go. Ye judge after the flesh; I judge no man. And yet if I judge, my judgment is true: for I am not alone, but I and the Father that sent me. It is also written in your law, that the testimony of two men is true. I am one that bear witness of myself, and the Father that sent me beareth witness of me” (John 8:12-18).

Notice that He Himself is able to bear record and witness of Himself and not a third Divine Being. If He is in us, then His Spirit like a magnet in us will draw us unto Himself. Some might not know from where He came and to where He is leading us, but it was He, Who said, “Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born of water and [of] the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God. That which is born of the flesh is flesh; and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit. Marvel not that I said unto thee, Ye must be born again. The wind bloweth where it listeth, and thou hearest the sound thereof, but canst not tell whence it cometh, and whither it goeth: so is every one that is born of the Spirit” (John 3:5-8).

He knows from where He came and to where He is leading us. But like the twelve spies from Israel, who were sent to spy out the land and bring back a report; two brought back a good report of what they could do with The Power of GOD'S Word with them. But the others brought back a false report, which darken the minds of the people, and led those, who join with them to denied the evidence of GOD'S Leading Hand by HIS Word. For there were false prophets among the people, who rashly lead those, who would follow the founders of the faith to stumble off The Path in denying their faith and the mark of His high calling, and of The Holy One that bought us with His Own Blood.

As Peter--the disciple of Christ said, "But there were false prophets also among the people, even as there shall be false teachers among you, who privily shall bring in damnable heresies, even denying the Lord that bought them, and bring upon themselves swift destruction. And many shall follow their pernicious ways; by reason of whom the way of truth shall be evil spoken of” (2 Peter 2:1,2). Have we entertained damnable heresies in our teachings that have denied The LORD and HIS Word, Who bought us with His Own blood? Have we followed the malicious, destructive and deadly ways of false prophets of the enemy to bring swift destruction upon ourselves? Have we setup an environment by our human reasoning, to make The Way of Truth an evil topic to speak of and understand?

It was for this reason that we are counseled by The Word through John, who said, “Beloved, believe not every spirit, but try the spirits whether they are of God: because many false prophets are gone out into the world. Hereby know ye the Spirit of God: Every spirit that confesseth that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh is of God: And every spirit that confesseth not that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh is not of God: and this is that [spirit] of antichrist, whereof ye have heard that it should come; and even now already is it in the world. Ye are of God, little children, and have overcome them: because greater is he that is in you, than he that is in the world. They are of the world: therefore speak they of the world, and the world heareth them. We are of God: he that knoweth God heareth us; he that is not of God heareth not us. Hereby know we the spirit of truth, and the spirit of error” (1 John 4:1-6).

Counsel was given by GOD through one of the founders of the faith by HIS Word. They were not to entertain these damnable heresies from the false prophets of the enemy. Through Ellen White, she was impressed to say,

“About the time that Living Temple was published, there passed before me in the night season, representations indicating that some danger was approaching, and that I must prepare for it by writing out the things God had revealed to me regarding the foundation principles of our faith. A copy of Living Temple was sent me, but it remained in my library, unread. From the light given me by the Lord, I knew that some of the sentiments advocated in the book did not bear the endorsement of God, and that they were a snare that the enemy had prepared for the last days. I thought that this would surely be discerned, and that it would not be necessary for me to say anything about it. In the controversy that arose among our brethren regarding the teachings of this book, those in favor of giving it a wide circulation declared: “It contains the very sentiments that Sister White has been teaching.”

This assertion struck right to my heart. I felt heartbroken; for I knew that this representation of the matter was not true. Finally my son said to me, "Mother, you ought to read at least some parts of the book, that you may see whether they are in harmony with the light that God has given you." He sat down beside me, and together we read the preface, and most of the first chapter, and also paragraphs in other chapters. As we read, I recognized the very sentiments against which I had been bidden to speak in warning during the early days of my public labors. When I first left the State of Maine, it was to go through Vermont and Massachusetts, to bear a testimony against these sentiments. Living Temple contains the alpha of these theories. I knew that the omega would follow in a little while; and I trembled for our people. I knew that I must warn our brethren and sisters not to enter into controversy over the presence and personality of God.

The statements made in Living Temple in regard to this point are incorrect. The scripture used to substantiate the doctrine there set forth, is scripture misapplied. I am compelled to speak in denial of the claim that the teachings of Living Temple can be sustained by statements from my writings. There may be in this book expressions and sentiments that are in harmony with my writings. And there may be in my writings many statements which, taken from their connection, and interpreted according to the mind of the writer of Living Temple, would seem to be in harmony with the teachings of this book. This may give apparent support to the assertion that the sentiments in Living Temple are in harmony with my writings. But God forbid that this sentiment should prevail.”

From the writing presented here, it is clear what led to her concerns for her brothers and sisters in the Advent movement in these last days. In her generation, many were clear in their minds to The Light and Truth that drew her concerns for her brothers and sisters in the faith. When she was alive she stood as a watchman on the wall to keep the deceptions of the enemy from the hearts of the people. But after many of the founders of the faith began to die, Elder Wilson saw the danger of losing the spirit and drive of those through whom The Spirit worked in fulfillment of His divine prophecy. Today, many have lost the original goals and purposes of the founders of the faith. The minds of many have become blurred and dim, as to the issues relating to the alpha and the omega of deadly heresies of darkness.

Yet, The LORD by HIS Word has revealed the issues clearly through her writings. The issues of both the Alpha and the Omega of deadly heresies affect the heart of the believer and his or her relationship to GOD. The influence of these heresies will affect "the foundation principles of our faith", which is the spirit and drive of who we are and where we are going. Through Paul, The LORD said by HIS Word that "...without faith [it is] impossible to please [him]: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and [that] he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him" (Hebrews 11:6). And if these heresies affect our faith in coming to GOD, then it will affect The Light HE has revealed by HIS Word on The Presence and The Personality of GOD. If we don't have The True Light to Guide us to The Father, then we are in darkness and do not know Who has led us in the past, and Who is leading us to Eternal Life. To be in this condition of darkness, is to be like the people in Noah's generation, who corrupted their way and was lost to GOD'S saving Grace. But I prayer that we will repent and walk in The Light of HIS Word.

In working on preparing this study for you the reader, and seeking to understand the original goals and purpose of the founders of our faith, and to find what drove the founders of our faith to do what they did. I came a cross this written work for all who would read the writings of Ellen G. White. From this writing below, she would not have wanted the sentiments of both the alpha and the omega of these deadly theories to enter and prevail in the hearts of those, who followed The Light of GOD'S Word through her writings. In other words, all, who followed The Light of GOD through her writings, She thought that they would have discerned the deception of the enemy and reject his theories to cause us to stumble in these last days. For She said,

Dear Reader: A sense of duty to my brethren and sisters and a desire that the blood of souls might not be found on my garments have governed me in writing this little work. I am aware of the unbelief that exists in the minds of the multitude relative to visions, also that many who profess to be looking for Christ and teach that we are in the "last days" call them all of Satan. I expect much opposition from such, and had I not felt that the Lord required it of me, I should not have made my views thus public, as they will probably call forth the hatred and derision of some. But I fear God more than man. {EW 76.1}

When the Lord first gave me messages to deliver to His people, it was hard for me to declare them, and I often softened them down and made them as mild as possible for fear of grieving some. It was a great trial to declare the messages as the Lord gave them to me. I did not realize that I was so unfaithful and did not see the sin and danger of such a course until in vision I was taken into the presence of Jesus. He looked upon me with a frown and turned His face from me. It is not possible to describe the terror and agony I then felt. I fell upon my face before Him, but had no power to utter a word. Oh, how I longed to be covered and hid from that dreadful frown! Then could I realize, in some degree, what the feeling of the lost will be when they cry, "Mountains and rocks, fall on us, and hide us from the face of Him that sitteth on the throne, and from the wrath of the Lamb." {EW 76.2}

Presently an angel bade me rise, and the sight that met my eyes can hardly be described. A company was presented before me whose hair and garments were torn and whose countenances were the very picture of despair and horror. They came close to me and took their garments and rubbed them on mine. I looked upon my garments and saw that they were stained with blood, and that blood was eating holes in them. Again I fell like one dead at the feet of my accompanying angel. I could not plead one excuse. My tongue refused all utterance, and I longed to be away from such a holy place. Again the angel stood me upon my feet and said, "This is not your case now, but this scene has passed before you to let you know what your situation must be if you neglect to declare to others what the Lord has revealed to you. But if you are faithful to the end, you shall eat of the tree of life and shall drink of the river of the water of life. You will have to suffer much, but the grace of God is sufficient." I then felt willing to do all that the Lord might require me to do that I might have His approbation and not feel His dreadful frown.

Early Writings (1882) Experience and Views Page 76

Although Jesus revealed His Love for us when we have wandered like sheep from The Path of Righteousness into darkness and death, He did not give kind words to those, who led His people to walk in darkness away from Him and The Father, WHO sent Him. For we have evidence of this in the gospels of those, who blinded the minds of His people from coming to Him, Who was sent of GOD to draw all unto Himself. The enemy used men, who sought for position and power, which he sought to do in and through the disciples, who worked with GOD by HIS Word. But Jesus worked on their hearts to work with Him in doing The Father's Will.

Are we working with Him in doing The Father's Will, or working secretly with the enemy to deceive and lead His people into darkness and death? I pray that we will examine our hearts to see the principles that govern our motives and the influence we give and receive, to and from those with whom we associate with ourselves.
