In order for us to know the will of the Son, on whether or not the New Testament Christian should observe the Law of God, we must, as the Father said, hear HIS Word. Jesus said, "...Verily, verily, I say unto you, The Son can do nothing of himself, but what he seeth the Father do: for what things soever he doeth, these also doeth the Son likewise. For the Father loveth the Son, and sheweth him all things that himself doeth: and he will shew him greater works than these, that ye may marvel.

"For as the Father raiseth up the dead, and quickeneth [them]; even so the Son quickeneth whom he will. For the Father judgeth no man, but hath committed all judgment unto the Son: That all [men] should honour the Son, even as they honour the Father. He that honoureth not the Son honoureth not the Father which hath sent him. Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that heareth my word, and believeth on him that sent me, hath everlasting life, and shall not come into condemnation; but is passed from death unto life.

"Verily, verily, I say unto you, The hour is coming, and now is, when the dead shall hear the voice of the Son of God: and they that hear shall live. For as the Father hath life in himself; so hath he given to the Son to have life in himself; And hath given him authority to execute judgment also, because he is the Son of man. Marvel not at this: for the hour is coming, in the which all that are in the graves shall hear his voice, And shall come forth; they that have done good, unto the resurrection of life; and they that have done evil, unto the resurrection of damnation" (John 5:19-29).

The Word also said, "For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved. He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God. And this is the condemnation, that light is come into the world, and men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil.

"For every one that doeth evil hateth the light, neither cometh to the light, lest his deeds should be reproved. But he that doeth truth cometh to the light, that his deeds may be made manifest, that they are wrought in God" (John 3:17-21).

As it was with Jesus, Who did nothing of Himself, but depended on the Father to guide Him in all things, likewise, we also can do nothing of ourselves without His help. As the Father raised Him up from among the dead, even so the Son is able to quicken those whom He will, because the Father has committed all judgment unto HIS Son, that all men should honor the Son as they honor the Father.

Whosoever receives the Word of God and believes on the Father WHO sent Him, he or she has passed from this condition of death to Life in Christ. And as He said, the hour is coming and even now is at hand, that those who shall hear the Word of God shall live. For He has received authority from the Father in Himself to give of Himself (Life) to those who shall receive Him. And if we choose not to receive Him, Who is our Light and Life, we are saying that we choose rather to remain in darkness and death.

For the Word of God said, "...Whoso findeth me findeth life, and shall obtain favour of the LORD. But he that sinneth against me wrongeth his own soul: all they that hate me love death" (Proverbs 8:35,36).
He also said, "If any man serve me, let him follow me; and where I am, there shall also my servant be: if any man serve me, him will [my] Father honour" (John 12:26).

The condition and the choice presented to us is this, if we love death, we would choose to sin against Him. But if it is our desire to receive Life, we must find Him. And if we desire to be where He is, we must serve Him. And if we serve Him, the Father will also honor those who serve HIS Word.

It was the Word of God, Who came to Moses on the mount of Sinai and wrote the will of God on tables of stone, which reveals the unchanging nature of the Father's Law of love. And if we desire to find Him, He will come to us and write His Father's law of love upon our hearts. And after receiving the Father's law of love within our hearts, He would say to us, "If ye love me, keep my commandments. And I will pray the Father, and he shall give you another Comforter, that he may abide with you for ever; [Even] the Spirit of truth; whom the world cannot receive, because it seeth him not, neither knoweth him: but ye know him; for he dwelleth with you, and shall be in you.

"I will not leave you comfortless: I will come to you. Yet a little while, and the world seeth me no more; but ye see me: because I live, ye shall live also. At that day ye shall know that I [am] in my Father, and ye in me, and I in you. He that hath my commandments, and keepeth them, he it is that loveth me: and he that loveth me shall be loved of my Father, and I will love him, and will manifest myself to him.

Judas saith unto him, not Iscariot, Lord, how is it that thou wilt manifest thyself unto us, and not unto the world? Jesus answered and said unto him, If a man love me, he will keep my words: and my Father will love him, and we will come unto him, and make our abode with him. He that loveth me not keepeth not my sayings: and the word which ye hear is not mine, but the Father's which sent me" (John 14:15-24).

So the answer is clear. The Word did not come to destroy the law or the prophets. He came to give Life to all who would choose to receive Him, that by receiving the Word of God within our heart, He would fulfill in and through us the Father's Will. It was for this reason that the LORD sent HIS Word to Moses, that through him, He might reveal the Father's Will to the children of Israel.

"And God spake all these words, saying, I am the LORD thy God, which have brought thee out of the land of Egypt, out of the house of bondage. Thou shalt have no other gods before me." (Exodus 20:1-3).

The Word became Flesh and fulfilled the Father's Will of love among His people, who were blinded to the truth of being separated from God in serving of self. However, by HIS Power Love for us, which HE has revealed in Christ, HE can change the heart of men and women from a heart of serving self to a heart that will honor and glorify HIS Name.

"And, behold, one came and said unto him, Good Master, what good thing shall I do, that I may have eternal life? And he said unto him, Why callest thou me good? [there is] none good but one, [that is], God: but if thou wilt enter into life, keep the commandments. He saith unto him, Which?

"Jesus said, Thou shalt do no murder, Thou shalt not commit adultery, Thou shalt not steal, Thou shalt not bear false witness, Honour thy father and [thy] mother: and, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself. The young man saith unto him, All these things have I kept from my youth up: what lack I yet? Jesus said unto him, If thou wilt be perfect, go [and] sell that thou hast, and give to the poor, and thou shalt have treasure in heaven: and come [and] follow me.

"But when the young man heard that saying, he went away sorrowful: for he had great possessions. Then said Jesus unto his disciples, Verily I say unto you, That a rich man shall hardly enter into the kingdom of heaven. And again I say unto you, It is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle, than for a rich man to enter into the kingdom of God. When his disciples heard [it], they were exceedingly amazed, saying, Who then can be saved?

"But Jesus beheld [them], and said unto them, With men this is impossible; but with God all things are possible. Then answered Peter and said unto him, Behold, we have forsaken all, and followed thee; what shall we have therefore? And Jesus said unto them, Verily I say unto you, That ye which have followed me, in the regeneration when the Son of man shall sit in the throne of his glory, ye also shall sit upon twelve thrones, judging the twelve tribes of Israel.

"And every one that hath forsaken houses, or brethren, or sisters, or father, or mother, or wife, or children, or lands, for my name's sake, shall receive an hundredfold, and shall inherit everlasting life. But many [that are] first shall be last; and the last [shall be] first" (Matthew 19:16-30).

The young man, who had great possessions, went away being sorrowful, because his heart was in the wrong place. If he had given his heart to the Lord, then his heart would have been made perfect with the Lord, and by giving what he had for the sake of the Lord, the Lord would have given him in return a hundred times more than what he had. The question we should ask as we search our hearts is, "What, or who do we hold more important than following the Will of the LORD?

In order to know the Heart of God, we need to receive HIS Word, that we might know HIS Will.
